أخبرنا أبو جعفر محمد بن محمد البغدادي، حدثنا إسحاق بن الحسن الطحّان، حدثنا موسى بن ناصح، حدثنا أبو معاوية، عن عمر بن نافع، عن أبيه، عن ابن عمر، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ لأبي بكر وعمر: "لا يتأمَّرُ عليكما أحدٌ بعدي" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): "After me, no one will rule over the two of you."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) ضعيف، موسى بن ناصح وإسحاق بن الحسن الطحّان لم يؤثر فيهما جرحٌ ولا تعديل، لكن روى عن كلٍّ منهما جمعٌ من الثقات، فهما مجهولا، الحال، وقد روى هذا الخبرَ منَ هو أجلُّ منهما عن أبي معاوية - وهو محمد بن خازم الضرير - عن السَّري بن يحيى الشيباني عن بِسطام بن مسلم مرسلًا، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ لأبي بكر وعمر … وهذا أشبه كما قال ابن عساكر في "تاريخ دمشق" 30/ 224، وهو معضل، لأنَّ بسطامًا من أتباع التابعين.
Grading: It is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): No criticism or accreditation is reported about Musa bin Nasih and Ishaq bin al-Hasan al-Tahhan, although a group of trustworthy narrators narrated from them, so they are "majhul al-hal" (of unknown status). Narrators of greater standing than them narrated this report via Abu Mu'awiyah (Muhammad bin Khazim al-Darir) > al-Sari bin Yahya al-Shaybani > Bistam bin Muslim as "mursal" (that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Abu Bakr and Umar …). This is the more likely version (ashbah) (as Ibn Asakir 30/224 said), and it is "mu'dal" because Bistam is among the followers of the Successors.
وأخرجه ابن عدي في "الكامل في الضعفاء" 5/ 46، وتَمَّام في فوائده" (1596)، وابن عساكر 30/ 223 - 224 من طريقين عن إسحاق بن الحسن الطحان، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ibn Adi (al-Kamil 5/46), Tammam (al-Fawa'id 1596) and Ibn Asakir (30/223-224) recorded it through two routes from Ishaq bin al-Hasan al-Tahhan with this same chain.
وأخرجه ابن سعد في "الطبقات" الكبرى 3/ 193، ومن طريقه ابن عساكر 30/ 224 عن أحمد بن عبد الله بن يُونس، وأخرجه ابن أبي شيبة 6/ 12، كلاهما (أحمد بن عبد الله بن يونس وابن أبي شيبة) عن أبي معاوية الضرير عن السّريّ بن يحيى، عن بسطام بن مسلم، مرسلًا.
