It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril took hold of my hand and showed me the gate of Paradise through which my Ummah will enter." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah, I wish that I had been with you so that I too could have seen it." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Know well that you will be the first person of my Ummah to enter Paradise."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The hadith is hasan.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the author's narration the narrator is named "Abu Hazim"; this is an error. The correct version is what Abu Bakr al-Qati'i (additions to Fada'il al-Sahabah 593) and al-Tabarani (al-Awsat 2594) narrated from Abu Muslim (Ibrahim bin Abd Allah al-Kajji, the teacher of the author's teacher); both of them said: "Abu Khalid al-Dalani > Abu Yahya the mawla of the family of Ja'dah > Abu Hurayrah."
Reference / Source: Likewise, the correct name appears in Ibn Abi al-Dunya's "Wasf al-Jannah" (220) in the narration of Abd Allah bin Umar bin Muhammad al-Qurashi and Abu Kurayb > al-Muharibi (Abd al-Rahman bin Muhammad).
Grading: Abu Yahya (the mawla of the family of Ja'dah) is "hasan al-hadith"; al-A'mash and Musa bin Abi Uthman al-Tabban narrated from him.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ishaq bin Mansur al-Saluli and Sa'id bin Amr al-Ash'athi narrated it from Abd al-Salam bin Harb, and they named the narrator "Abu Khalid the mawla of the family of Ja'dah". Via al-Saluli it was recorded by Ibn al-A'rabi (al-Mu'jam: 2435) and Ibn Asakir (30/106). Via al-Ash'athi it was recorded by Abu al-Qasim bin Bishran (al-Amali: 93).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Likewise, some of those who narrated from al-Muharibi also named him "Abu Khalid the mawla of the family of Ja'dah". Among them is Abd Allah bin Umar bin al-Qurashi (Abd Allah bin Ahmad: additions to Fada'il al-Sahabah 258, Ibn Bishran: 94, al-Ushari: 2, Ibn Asakir: 30/104, 106).
Reference / Source: Among them is also Hannad bin al-Sari (Abu Dawud: 4652).
Reference / Source: Among them is also Abu al-Sukayn Zakariyya bin Yahya (Ibn Shahin: 96, Ibn Asakir: 30/105).
Reference / Source: Among them is also Muhammad bin Abd al-Majid al-Tamimi (Abu Nu'aym: 30, Ibn al-Fakhir: 346, Ibn Asakir: 30/105).
Important point: On this basis, it appears that this disagreement over the name of the Successor comes from Abd al-Salam bin Harb or from his teacher Abu Khalid al-Dalani, since both of them made errors. No one among the Successors is known by the name "Abu Khalid the mawla of the family of Ja'dah"; rather, "Abu Yahya the mawla of the family of Ja'dah" is known, and he is hasan al-hadith, with two narrators besides al-Dalani narrating from him. Therefore the correct version is the narration in which the one narrating from Abd al-Salam called him "Abu Yahya the mawla of the family of Ja'dah". Its correctness is further supported by the fact that this Abu Yahya narrates several other hadiths from Abu Hurayrah. And Allah knows best. If this (his being Abu Yahya) is correct, then since Abu Khalid al-Dalani (Yazid bin Abd al-Rahman) is also hasan al-hadith, the hadith is "hasan".
