أخبرنا أبو جعفر محمد بن محمد البغدادي، حدثنا يحيى بن أيوب العَلَّاف بمصر، حدثنا سعيد بن أبي مَريم، أخبرنا سفيان بن عُيَينة، عن عمرو بن دينار، عن ابن عبّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ﴾ [آل عمران: 159]، قال: أبو بكر وعُمر (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "And consult them in the matter" [Surah Al Imran: 159]; he said: (What is meant is) Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(1) إسناده جيد من أجل يحيى بن أيوب العَلَّاف، فهو صدوق ولا بأس به.
Grading: Its chain is "jayyid" (good) because of Yahya bin Ayyub al-'Allaf; he is saduq (truthful) and has nothing wrong with him (la ba'sa bihi).
وأخرجه البيهقي 10/ 108 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi recorded it in 10/ 108 from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim with this same chain.
وأخرجه أبو جعفر النحاس في "الناسخ والمنسوخ" ص 729 - 730، وابن عدي في "الكامل" 4/ 255 من طريق عبد الله بن محمد بن سعيد بن أبي مريم، عن جدِّه، به. وقال ابن عدي: هذا الحديث ليس بمحفوظ عن ابن عُيينة، وعبد الله بن محمد بن سعيد بن أبي مريم هذا إما أن يكون مغفّلًا لا يدري ما يخرج من رأسه أو يتعمّد، فإني رأيت له غير ما حديثٍ مما لم أذكره أيضًا هاهنا غير محفوظات.
Reference / Source: Abu Ja'far al-Nahhas (al-Nasikh wa al-Mansukh pp. 729-730) and Ibn 'Adi (al-Kamil 4/ 255) recorded it via 'Abd Allah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam > his grandfather.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn 'Adi said: "This hadith is not preserved (mahfuz) from Ibn 'Uyaynah. And this 'Abd Allah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam is either heedless (mughaffal), not knowing what comes out of his head (mouth), or he does it deliberately, for I have seen several other unpreserved hadiths of his which I have not mentioned here."
كذا قال ابن عدي بأنه غير محفوظ! مع أن عبد الله بن محمد بن سعيد بن أبي مريم لم ينفرد به، بل تابعه يحيى بن أيوب العَلَّاف عند المصنف كما ترى.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn 'Adi called it unpreserved! Yet 'Abd Allah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam is not alone in it; rather, Yahya bin Ayyub al-'Allaf corroborated him with the author, as you see.
