خِلَافَةُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ بِتَأْيِيدِ عُمَرَ بَعْدِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .

حدثنا أبو العبّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا أبو البَخْتَري عبد الله بن محمد بن شاكر، حدثنا حسين بن علي الجعفي، عن زائدة، عن عاصم، عن زِرٍّ، عن عبد الله، قال: لما قُبِضَ رسولُ الله ﷺ وقالت الأنصارُ: مِنّا أميرٌ ومنكم أميرٌ، قال: فأتاهم عمرُ فقال: يا معشر الأنصار، ألستم تعلمون أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قد أمَر أبا بكر يؤمُّ الناسّ، فأيُّكم تطيبُ نفسُه أن يتقدَّم أبا بكر؟ فقالت الأنصار: نعوذُ بالله أن نتقّدمَ أبا بكر (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away and the Ansar said, "One leader will be from us and one leader from you (the Muhajirun)," Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to them and said: "O company of the Ansar, do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the people in prayer? So which of you would be content to put himself ahead of Abu Bakr?" At this the Ansar said: "We seek refuge in Allah from putting ourselves ahead of Abu Bakr."

(1) خبر صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل عاصم - وهو ابن أبي النَّجُود، ويقال له أيضًا: ابن بَهْدلة - لكن تابعه إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عند أبي بكر الآجُرّي في "الشريعة" (1198)، وابنِ عساكر في "تاريخ دمشق" 30/ 272، وغيرهما زائدة: هو ابن قُدامة، وزِرٌّ: هو ابن حُبيش.
Grading: The report is sahih, and this chain is "hasan" because of 'Asim (Ibn Abi al-Najud / Ibn Bahdalah).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: But Isma'il bin Abi Khalid corroborated him (in al-Ajurri: al-Shari'ah 1198, Ibn 'Asakir: 30/ 272 and others). Za'idah: he is Ibn Qudamah. Zirr: he is Ibn Hubaysh.
وأخرجه أحمد 1/ (133) و 6 / (3765) عن حُسين بن علي الجُعفي، والنسائي (855) عن إسحاق بن إبراهيم - وهو المعروف بابن راهويه - وهناد بن السَّرِيّ، عن حُسين بن علي الجُعفي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad 1/ (133) and 6/ (3765) recorded it from Husayn bin 'Ali al-Ju'fi, and al-Nasa'i (855) from Ishaq bin Ibrahim (Ibn Rahawayh) and Hannad bin al-Sari > Husayn bin 'Ali al-Ju'fi, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 1 / (133) و 6 / (3842) عن معاوية بن عمرو، عن زائدة بن قُدامة، به.
