تَفْتَرِقُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةُ عَلَى ثَلَاثٍ وَسَبْعِينَ كُلُّهَا فِي النَّارِ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً
This Ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all in the Fire except one
Mustadrak al-Hakim 447 — This Ummah will split into seventy-three
ما أخبرَناه أبو العباس قاسم بن قاسم السَّيّاري بمرو، حدثنا أبو الموجِّه محمد بن عمرو الفَزَاري، حدثنا يوسف بن عيسى، حدثنا الفضل بن موسى، عن محمد بن عمرو، حدثني أبو سَلَمة، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "تَفرَّقَت اليهودُ على إحدى وسبعين، والنصارى مثلَ ذلك، وتَفترِقُ أُمَّتي على ثلاثٍ وسبعين فِرقةً" (2). ومنها:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Jews divided into seventy-one sects, the Christians likewise, and my Ummah will divide into seventy-three sects."
