Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4392

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took his sword "Dhu al-Faqar" (as a special share) from the spoils of war on the day of Badr.
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it; and I have mentioned it here to refute the weak reports which say that Dhu al-Faqar was obtained on the day of Khaybar.
