Iyas bin Salamah narrates from his father that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) as commander, and we fought against some people of Banu Fazarah. When we came near the water, we rested on the order of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him); then when we had prayed the morning prayer, we launched a sudden raid on his order. We reached the water and killed those who were there. Then a group of people turned back, among them children and women, who were close to escaping towards the mountain, so we shot an arrow between them and the mountain, and it made them stop. I drove them along and brought them to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). Among them was a woman of Banu Fazarah who was wearing a garment of leather, and with her was her daughter, who was one of the most beautiful women of the Arabs. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) gave me that girl as a reward. I came to Madinah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) met me in the market and said: "O Salamah, may your father be blessed! Give this woman to me." I said: "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah! I have not even touched her yet, and she is yours." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent her to Makkah and, in exchange for her, paid the ransom of the Muslim prisoners who were in the hands of the polytheists and had them released.
Imam Muslim has narrated it in a context other than this one.
