It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: On the night when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me to sleep in his bed and he (peace and blessings be upon him) set out from Makkah to emigrate, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took me to the idols. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sit down." So I sat down beside the Ka'bah. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) climbed onto my shoulders and said: "Stand up." I stood up carrying him (peace and blessings be upon him), but when he (peace and blessings be upon him) sensed my weakness beneath him, he said: "Sit down." I sat down and brought him (peace and blessings be upon him) down off me. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (himself) sat down for me and said to me: "O Ali! Climb onto my shoulders." So I climbed onto his (peace and blessings be upon him) shoulders, and then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up carrying me, and it seemed to me that if I wished I could touch the sky. I climbed onto the Ka'bah and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) moved aside. Then I threw down their biggest idol, which was made of brass and firmly fixed to the ground with iron pegs. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pull it out." I began pulling at it while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying: "Iyh, iyh (Well done, keep going)." I kept pulling at it until I had it fully under my control. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Break it." So I broke it into pieces and came down.
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (1) In this chain is "Muhammad bin Musa al-Qurashi" (who is in fact Muhammad bin Yunus bin Musa al-Kudaymi), and he is very weak (da'if jiddan). Important point: But this hadith has passed earlier (no. 3427) through the route of Nu'aym bin Hakim from Abu Maryam al-Asadi (where this weak narrator was not present). Here Abu Maryam is attributed as "al-Asadi", whereas what is well known is that he is "al-Thaqafi" or "al-Hanafi", as comes in some narrations. Since the lineage of Banu Hanifah goes back to "Asad bin Rabi'ah", it appears that some narrators attributed Abu Maryam to the remote ancestor (Asad) of Banu Hanifah. According to a number of scholars, the name of this Abu Maryam is "Qays".
