It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the parting of the blessed head of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) there were only a few white hairs; when he applied oil, the oil would conceal those hairs.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the printed edition the word "bid" (white hairs) is added.
Grading: Its chain is hasan on account of Simak bin Harb. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Simak bin Harb is hasan al-hadith, and al-Husayn bin Humayd (Ibn al-Rabi') has been corroborated (mutaba'). Reference / Source: Ahmad recorded it at 34/ (20840, 20988, 20992) via various routes from Hammad bin Salamah with this same chain. Reference / Source: Ahmad, Muslim and al-Nasa'i recorded it via Shu'bah bin al-Hajjaj, and Ahmad, Muslim and Ibn Hibban via Isra'il bin Yunus al-Sabi'i, from Simak. Important point: Here too al-Hakim's including it as a supplement (istidrak) is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part. Important point: Here the word "al-duhn" means perfume ('itr / tib).
