حدثنا الأستاذ أبو الوليد وأبو بكر بن عبد الله، قالا: حدثنا الحسن بن سفيان، حدثنا قُتَيبة بن سعيد، حدثنا الليث بن سعد، عن ابن عَجْلان، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة، أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: "أنا أبو القاسِم، اللهُ يُعطِي وأنا أَقسِمُ" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am Abu al-Qasim; Allah Almighty gives and I distribute."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد جيد من أجل عجلان - والد محمد، وهو مولى فاطمة بنت عتبة - وقد رُوي عن أبي هريرة من وجوه أُخرى.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, and this chain is good (jayyid) on account of 'Ajlan (the father of Muhammad, and the freed slave of Fatimah bint 'Utbah).
Note / Clarification: It has also been narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) through other routes.
وأخرجه أحمد 15/ (9598) عن يحيى بن سعيد القطان وابن حبان (5817) من طريق سفيان الثوري، كلاهما عن محمد بن عجلان، به.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ahmad 15/(9598) from Yahya bin Sa'id al-Qattan, and by Ibn Hibban (5817) via Sufyan al-Thawri, both from Muhammad bin 'Ajlan, with this chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 16/ (10257)، والبخاري (3117) من طريق عبد الرحمن بن أبي عمرة، والنسائي (5808) طريق أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن كلاهما عن أبي هريرة دون قوله: "أنا أبو القاسم". ورواية ابن أبي عمرة: "ما أعطيكم ولا أمنعكم، إنما أنا قاسم أضعُ حيث أُمِرتُ".
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ahmad 16/(10257) and al-Bukhari (3117) via 'Abd al-Rahman bin Abi 'Amrah, and by al-Nasa'i (5808) via Abu Salamah bin 'Abd al-Rahman, both from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), without the words "I am Abu al-Qasim."
Details of the narration: The wording of Ibn Abi 'Amrah's narration is: "I neither give you nor withhold from you; I am only a distributor (qasim), placing things where I am commanded."
وأخرجه أحمد 13/ (7728) من طريق موسى بن يسار، عن أبي هريرة. بلفظ: "تَسمُّوا بي ولا تكتنوا بي، أنا أبو القاسم"، وإسناده صحيح.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
