It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him); he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned several of his names to us, some of which we remembered and some of which we forgot. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am al-Muqaffi (the one who comes after all), I am al-Hashir (the gatherer), I am the Prophet of repentance, and I am the Prophet of al-Malhamah (jihad and battle)."
This hadith has an authentic chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts this name has been corrupted into "'Abdullah"; the correction is from all the other narrations of al-Hakim via this route.

Grading: This hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan on account of 'Abd al-'Aziz bin Hatim, and he has been corroborated.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (Identification of narrators): Abu Nu'aym is al-Fadl bin Dukayn, al-Mas'udi is 'Abd al-Rahman bin 'Abdullah bin 'Utbah, and Abu 'Ubaydah is Ibn 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ahmad 23/(19525), (19621) and (19651) via various routes from al-Mas'udi, with this chain.
Details of the narration: In one narration from al-Mas'udi he said "the Prophet of mercy" instead of "the Prophet of fierce battle (al-malhamah)."
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Muslim (2355) and Ibn Hibban (6314) via al-A'mash, from 'Amr bin Murrah, with this chain.
Details of the narration: However, Muslim's narration has "the Prophet of repentance and the Prophet of mercy," and Ibn Hibban's narration has "the Prophet of mercy and the Prophet of fierce battle."
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Hakim's including it as a supplement (istidrak) is an oversight on his part.
