وُلِدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ الْفِيلِ

حدثنا أبو الحسن محمد بن أحمد بن شَبَّويهِ الرئيس بمَرْو، حدثنا جعفر بن محمد النَّيسابوري، حدثنا علي بن مِهْران، أخبرنا سلمة بن الفضل، عن محمد بن إسحاق، قال: ولد رسول الله ﷺ لاثنتي عشرة ليلةً مَضَتْ من شهر ربيعٍ الأولِ (2).
It is narrated from Imam Muhammad bin Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) that the blessed birth of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took place when twelve nights of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal had passed.

Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Bayhaqi in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (1324) from Abu 'Abdullah al-Hakim, with this chain.
وأخرجه الطبري في "تاريخه" 2/ 156 عن محمد بن حميد الرازي، والبيهقي في "دلائل النبوة" 1/ 74 من طريق عمار بن الحسن النسائي، كلاهما عن سلمة بن الفضل، به.

وهو في "السيرة النبوية" لابن هشام 1/ 158 عن زياد بن عبد الله البكائي، عن محمد بن إسحاق. ويشهد له ما أخرجه الجُورْقاني في "الأباطيل والمناكير والصحاح" (122) بسند صحيح عن جابر بن عبد الله وابن عبّاس، قالا: ولد رسول الله ﷺ يوم الفيل يوم الاثنين، الثاني عشر من شهر ربيع الأول، وفيه بُعث، وفيه عَرج إلى السماء، وفيه هاجر، وفيه مات ﷺ.

Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is supported by what al-Jawzaqani recorded in "al-Abatil wa-l-Manakir wa-l-Sihah" (122) with a sahih chain from Jabir bin 'Abdullah and Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), who both said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was born on the Day of the Elephant, on Monday, the twelfth of Rabi' al-Awwal; on it he was sent as a prophet, on it he ascended to heaven, on it he emigrated, and on it he (peace and blessings be upon him) died."
