It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "The first surah of the Qur'an to be revealed was: 'Read in the name of your Lord' [Surah al-Alaq: 1]."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: The hadith is sahih, and its chain is hasan on account of Muhammad bin Ishaq. It is a repetition of what has passed at number (2909) from Abu Bakr bin Ishaq alone.
(4903). Reference / Source: Rather, they (the two Shaykhs) recorded its meaning within the hadith of the beginning of revelation, from the hadith of more than one narrator from al-Zuhri from 'Urwah from 'A'ishah, as will come at number (4903).
