أخبرنا محمد بن الخَليل الأصبهاني، حدَّثنا موسى بن إسحاق الخَطْمي، حدَّثنا أبي، حدَّثنا عبَّاد بن العوَّام، أخبرنا حُصَين، عن عِكْرمة، عن ابن عبَّاس في قول الله ﷿: ﴿وَإِذَا الْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ﴾ [التكوير: 5]، قال: حَشْرُ البهائم: موتُها، وحشرُ كلِّ شيءٍ: الموتُ، غير الجنِّ والإنسِ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty "And when the wild beasts are gathered" [Surah al-Takwir: 5], that he said: The gathering of the animals is their death, and the gathering of everything, except the jinn and mankind, is its death.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) خبر صحيح، محمد بن الخليل الأصبهاني لم نقف على ترجمته، ومن فوقه ثقات. حصين: هو ابن عبد الرحمن السلمي.
Grading: This report is "sahih". We did not find a biography (tarjamah) of Muhammad bin al-Khalil al-Asbahani; those above him are thiqah. Husayn is "Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami".
وأخرجه الطبري في "تفسيره" 30/ 67 عن علي بن مسلم الطوسي، عن عباد بن العوام، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Tabari in his Tafsir (30/67) from Ali bin Muslim al-Tusi, from Abbad bin al-Awwam, with this chain.
وهذا إسناد صحيح.

وأخرج نحوه أيضًا من طريق سفيان بن سعيد الثوري، عن أبيه، عن عكرمة، عن ابن عبَّاس.
