حَدَّثَنَا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله بن دينار العَدْل، حَدَّثَنَا الحسين بن الفضل، حَدَّثَنَا أبو نُعيم وأبو غسّان قالا: حَدَّثَنَا إسرائيل، عن سِماك بن حَرْب، عن عِكْرمة، عن ابن عبَّاس: ﴿الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ﴾ [الرحمن: 5] قال: بحِسابٍ ومَنازلَ (2). صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "The sun and the moon move according to a reckoning (an appointed system)" [Surah al-Rahman: 5], that he said: "(It means) a reckoning and their appointed stations."

(2) إسناده حسن من أجل سماك بن حرب. أبو نعيم: هو الفضل بن دكين، وأبو غسان: هو مالك بن إسماعيل النهدي.
Grading: Its chain is "hasan" on account of Simak bin Harb.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Nu'aym is al-Fadl bin Dukayn, and Abu Ghassan is Malik bin Isma'il al-Nahdi.
وأخرجه الطبري في "تفسيره" 27/ 115 من طريق محمد بن يوسف الفريابي، عن إسرائيل، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabari narrated it in his "Tafsir" (27/ 115) by way of Muhammad bin Yusuf al-Firyabi from Isra'il with this same chain.
وأخرجه أبو الشيخ في "طبقات المحدثين بأصبهان" 1/ 427 من طريق خطّاب بن جعفر بن أبي المغيرة، عن أبيه، عن سعيد بن جبير، عن ابن عبَّاس. وإسناده حسن.
