It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Nafi' bin al-Azraq came to him and asked: "Are the five prayers mentioned in the Qur'an?" He said: "Yes." Then he recited this verse: "So glory be to Allah when you reach the evening" [Surah al-Rum: 17], and said that this means the Maghrib prayer; "and when you reach the morning" [Surah al-Rum: 17] means the Fajr (morning) prayer; "and in the late afternoon" [Surah al-Rum: 18] means the Asr prayer; and "and when you reach midday" [Surah al-Rum: 18] means the Zuhr prayer. Then he recited this verse (for the mention of Isha): "and after the Isha prayer; (these are) three times of privacy for you" [Surah al-Nur: 58].
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
