Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3512

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, has Surah al-Hajj been given superiority (over other surahs) by having two prostrations? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, so whoever does not perform these two prostrations, let him not recite them (the verses of prostration)."
We have recorded this hadith as musnad (with a connected chain to the Prophet) only through this chain. Abdullah bin Lahi'ah bin Uqbah al-Hadrami is one of the Imams; he has been criticised only because of the confusion of his memory in the last part of his life. And the narration of this (that there are two prostrations in Surah al-Hajj) is authentically established from the statements of Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud, Sayyiduna Abu Musa, Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' and Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with them).
