حدثني أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا محمد بن أحمد بن النَّضْر الأَزْدي، حدثنا معاوية بن عمرو، حدثنا أبو إسحاق الفَزَاري، عن سفيان، عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: نزلت هذه الآيةُ في حمزةَ وأصحابه: ﴿وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ﴾ [آل عمران: 169] (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that this verse was revealed about Sayyiduna Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions: "And never think of those who have been killed in the way of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision" [Surah Al Imran: 169].
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(1) إسناده صحيح. أبو إسحاق الفزاري: هو إبراهيم بن محمد بن الحارث، وسفيان: هو الثوري.
Grading: (1) Its chain is "sahih". Abu Ishaq al-Fazari: Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin al-Harith; Sufyan: al-Thawri.
وقد سلف معناه في خبر أطول ممّا هنا برقم (2475) من رواية أبي الزبير عن سعيد بن جبير عن ابن عبَّاس مرفوعًا.
Note / Clarification: Its meaning has already passed in a longer report at (2475).
