حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن جعفر بن أحمد بن موسى المزكِّي، حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم العَبْدي، حدثنا يعقوب بن كعب الحَلَبي، حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم، عن زُهَير بن محمد العَنبَري، عن جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن جابر بن عبد الله: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ تَلَا قولَ الله ﷿: ﴿وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ارْتَضَى﴾ [الأنبياء: 28]، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: "إنَّ شفاعتي لأهلِ الكبائر من أمَّتي" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this saying of Allah Almighty: "And they do not intercede except for one whom He approves" [Surah al-Anbiya: 28]; then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, my intercession is for those of my Ummah who have committed major sins."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(2) صحيح لغيره، رجاله ثقات إلّا أنَّ رواية الشاميين عن زهير بن محمد فيها مناكير، والوليد بن مسلم دمشقي، وقد تابعه عمرو بن أبي سلمة فيما سلف عند المصنف برقم (232)، وعمرو شامي أيضًا. وأخرجه ابن ماجه (4310) عن عبد الرحمن بن إبراهيم الدمشقي، عن الوليد بن مسلم، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading: (2) It is "sahih li-ghayrihi" (authentic through supporting evidence).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Its narrators are thiqah, but the narrations of the Syrians from Zuhayr bin Muhammad contain munkar (denounced) material, and al-Walid bin Muslim is a Damascene (Syrian). However, he was corroborated by 'Amr bin Abi Salamah (himself also Syrian) in what passed with the author (al-Hakim) at no. (232).
