أخبرني الشيخ أبو بكر أحمد بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا محمد بن غالب، حدثنا موسى بن مسعود، حدثنا سفيان، عن عُمَارة بن القَعقاع الضَّبِّي، عن إبراهيم، عن الأسوَد، عن عبد الله: ﴿قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ الَّذِي فِيهِ تَسْتَفْتِيَانِ﴾ [يوسف: 41]، قال: لمَّا حَكَيا ما رأياه وعَبَرَ يوسفُ ﵇، قال أحدهما: ما رأَيْنا شيئًا، فقال: قُضِيَ الأمرُ الذي فيه تَستَفْتِيان (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), regarding this saying of Allah Almighty: "The matter about which you both inquire has been decided" [Surah Yusuf: 41], that when those two prisoners described the dreams they had seen and Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) gave their interpretation, one of them said (in fear): "We did not see anything at all." At this Yusuf (peace be upon him) said: "The matter about which you both inquired has been decided."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

(1) خبر صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل موسى بن مسعود: وهو أبو حذيفة النهدي. سفيان: هو الثوري، وإبراهيم: هو ابن يزيد النخعي، والأسود: هو ابن يزيد النخعي خال إبراهيم.
Grading: This report is sahih, and its chain is hasan because of Musa bin Mas'ud (Abu Hudhayfah al-Nahdi).
Note / Clarification: Sufyan: he is al-Thawri; Ibrahim: he is Ibn Yazid al-Nakha'i; and al-Aswad: he is Ibn Yazid al-Nakha'i, the maternal uncle of Ibrahim.
وهو عند أبي حذيفة النهدي في "تفسير سفيان" (405)، لكن بإسقاط الواسطة بين إبراهيم وابن مسعود، وهكذا رواه عن سفيان عبدُ الرحمن بن مهدي ووكيع عند الطبري 12/ 221.
Reference / Source: It is found with Abu Hudhayfah al-Nahdi in "Tafsir Sufyan" (405), but with the intermediary between Ibrahim and Ibn Mas'ud dropped. Likewise 'Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi and Waki' narrated it from Sufyan in al-Tabari (12/ 221).
وسيأتي برقم (8395) من طريق محمد بن فضيل عن عمارة عن إبراهيم، فسمى الواسطة بينه وبين ابن مسعودٍ علقمةَ: وهو ابن قيس النخعي من أخوال إبراهيم. والإسناد صحيح.
Reference / Source: And it will come later at number (8395) through the route of Muhammad bin Fudayl from 'Umarah from Ibrahim, where he named the intermediary between himself and Ibn Mas'ud as "'Alqamah" (Ibn Qays al-Nakha'i, one of Ibrahim's maternal uncles). And that chain is sahih.
وأخرجه ابن أبي حاتم 7/ 2148 من طريق عمرو بن مرة، عن أبي عبيدة، عن أبيه عبد الله بن مسعود.
Reference / Source: Ibn Abi Hatim (7/ 2148) recorded it through the route of 'Amr bin Murrah, from Abu 'Ubaydah, from his father 'Abd Allah bin Mas'ud.
