أخبرنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن أحمد المحبُوبي، حدثنا سعيد بن مسعود، حدثنا عُبيد الله بن موسى، حدثنا عبد الأعلى بن أَعْيَن، عن يحيى بن أبي كَثير، عن عُرْوة، عن عائشة قالت: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "الشِّركُ أخفى من دَبِيب الذَّرِّ على الصَّفَا في الليلة الظَّلماء، وأدناه أن تُحِبَّ على شيءٍ من الجَوْر، وتُبغِضَ على شيءٍ من العَدْل، وهلِ الدِّينُ إلَّا الحبُّ والبُغْضُ، قال الله ﷿: ﴿قُلْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ﴾ [آل عمران: 31] " (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shirk is more hidden than the sound of an ant creeping over a (black) rock on a dark night. Its lowest degree is that you love something of injustice or hate something of justice. And is the religion anything other than love and hatred for the sake of Allah? Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has said: 'Say: If you love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you' [Surah Al Imran: 31]."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده ضعيف بمرَّة، عبد الأعلى بن أعين ضعيف منكر الحديث، وأعلَّه الذهبي به في "تلخيصه".
Grading: Its chain is utterly weak;
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abd al-A'la bin A'yan is weak and munkar in hadith, and al-Dhahabi declared it defective on his account in his "Talkhis".
وأخرجه العقيلي في "الضعفاء" (997)، وابن أبي حاتم في "تفسيره" 2/ 632، وأبو نعيم في "الحلية" 8/ 368 و 9/ 253، وابن الجوزي في "العلل المتناهية" (1378) من طرق عن عبيد الله بن موسى، بهذا الإسناد. قال العقيلي: لا يتابع عبد الأعلى عليه، ولا يُعرف إلَّا به، وهو يروي عن يحيى بن أبي كثير غير حديثٍ منكر لا أصل له. وقال ابن أبي حاتم: قال أبو زرعة -يعني الرازي-: هذا حديث منكر وعبد الأعلى منكر الحديث ضعيف.
Reference / Source: Al-'Uqayli recorded it in "al-Du'afa'" (997), Ibn Abi Hatim in his "Tafsir" 2/632, Abu Nu'aym in "al-Hilyah" 8/368 and 9/253, and Ibn al-Jawzi in "al-'Ilal al-Mutanahiyah" (1378), via several routes from 'Ubayd Allah bin Musa, with this same chain. Al-'Uqayli said: Abd al-A'la is not corroborated in it, and it is known only through him; he narrates from Yahya bin Abi Kathir more than one munkar hadith that has no basis. Ibn Abi Hatim said: Abu Zur'ah (al-Razi) said: This is a munkar hadith, and Abd al-A'la is munkar in hadith and weak.
