Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that in the early period of Hajj the people used to trade at Mina, Suq al-Majaz and the other places of Hajj. Then, when the Qur'an was revealed, they became afraid of trading, so Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed this verse concerning the days of Hajj: "There is no sin upon you in seeking the bounty of your Lord (through trade)" [Surah al-Baqarah: 198].
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.
