حدثنا أبو القاسم عبد الرحمن بن الحسن القاضي بهَمَذان، حدثنا إبراهيم ابن الحسين، حدثنا الفضل بن دُكَين، حدثنا آدم بن أبي إياس، أخبرنا شُعبة، عن سَلَمة بن كُهيل، عن أبي الأحوص، عن عبد الله قال: اقرؤوا سورة البقرة في بيوتِكم، فإنَّ الشيطان لا يَدخُلُ بيتًا تُقرأُ فيه سورةُ البقرة (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that: Recite Surah al-Baqarah in your houses, for the devil does not enter a house in which Surah al-Baqarah is recited.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد فيه ضعف من أجل عبد الرحمن بن الحسن القاضي، وهو متابع، ومن فوقه ثقات. أبو الأحوص: هو عوف بن مالك الجُشَمي.
Grading: The hadith is sahih li-ghayrihi, and this chain has weakness in it because of 'Abd al-Rahman bin al-Hasan al-Qadi, but he has been corroborated, and those above him are thiqah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu al-Ahwas is 'Awf bin Malik al-Jushami.
وقد سلف برقم (2086) من طريق الفضل بن دكين عن شعبة، فروايته هنا عن آدم بن أبي إياس عن شعبة من المَزِيد في متصل الأسانيد. وانظر تمام تخريجه هناك.
Details of the narration: It has passed under no. (2086) by way of al-Fadl bin Dukayn from Shu'bah, so its narration here from Adam bin Abi Iyas from Shu'bah is a case of al-mazid fi muttasil al-asanid. See its full takhrij there.
