Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 302

حدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ، حدثنا السَّرِي بن خُزيمة، حدثنا أحمد بن عبد الله بن يونس، حدثنا زائدة، عن الأعمش، عن أبي صالح، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "ما مِن رجلٍ سَلَكَ طريقًا يَطلُبُ فيه علمًا، إلّا سَهَّلَ الله له به طريقَ الجنة، ومَن أبطأ به عملُه، لم يُسرعْ به نَسَبُه" (1). تابعه أبو معاوية وابن نُمَير. أما حديث أبي معاوية:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah Almighty makes easy for him, in return for it, the path to Paradise; and whoever is held back by his deeds, his lineage will not bring him forward." Abu Mu'awiyah and Ibn Numayr also corroborated (mutaba'ah) this hadith.

(1) إسناده صحيح. زائدة: هو ابن قدامة، والأعمش: هو سليمان بن مهران، وأبو صالح: هو ذكوان السمّان.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Identification of names: Za'idah is Ibn Qudamah, al-A'mash is Sulayman bin Mihran, and Abu Salih is Dhakwan al-Samman.
وأخرجه أبو داود (3643) عن أحمد بن عبد الله بن يونس، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3643) narrated it from Ahmad bin Abd Allah bin Yunus, with this chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 14/ (8316) و 15/ (9274)، ومسلم (2699)، والترمذي (2646) و (2945) من طرق عن الأعمش، به - وبعضهم يزيد فيه على بعض. وصرَّح الأعمش في بعض هذه الطرق بالسماع من أبي صالح.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): In some of these routes al-A'mash stated explicitly that he heard it from Abu Salih.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
