It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that neither the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ever pronounced a hamzah (in words such as "nabi"), nor Abu Bakr, nor Umar, nor the other Caliphs. Rather, pronouncing the hamzah (in such words) is an innovation invented by the people who came after them. (Note that regarding one of the narrators in its chain, Musa bin Ubaydah, Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal said: I do not write the hadith of Musa bin Ubaydah al-Rabadhi and Abd al-Rahman bin Ziyad al-Ifriqi, because they are weak.)

Grading of the chain: This chain is "wahi" (extremely weak). Concerning 'Abd Allah bin Udhaynah (who is 'Abd Allah bin 'Utarid bin Udhaynah), Ibn 'Adi said: "munkar al-hadith", al-Daraqutni said: "matruk al-hadith", and al-Hakim and al-Naqqash (as stated in "Lisan al-Mizan") accused him of narrating "mawdu'" (fabricated) hadiths. Musa bin 'Ubaydah al-Rabadhi is agreed to be weak, and al-Dhahabi declared him "wahi" in "Talkhis al-Mustadrak". As for Ibrahim bin Mihran and Mihran bin Dawud, we have not found their biographies.
