Here begins the Book of Freeing Slaves (Kitab al-Itq). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever frees a person (a slave), Allah Almighty will free every limb of his (the one who frees) from the Fire in return for every limb of his (the slave)."
This hadith has a sahih chain of transmission, but the two Shaykhs did not record it. It also has supporting narrations from the hadiths of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari and Wathilah bin al-Asqa'.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrihi", and this chain is "da'if" because "al-Hasan" (Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Shami) is unknown (majhul). (In the chain) Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi is "Sulayman bin Dawud" and Hisham bin Abi Abd Allah is "al-Dastuwa'i". Reference / Source: It is in "Musnad al-Tayalisi" in the narration of Yunus bin Habib (596), but "al-Hasan bin Abd al-Rahman al-Shami" is not mentioned in its chain. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: However, Bakkar bin Qutaybah is corroborated in mentioning al-Hasan in the chain by "Muhammad bin Bashshar", in al-Ruyani's "Musnad" (241), where al-Ruyani narrated it from Muhammad bin Bashshar, from Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, with mention of al-Hasan. Reference / Source: Ahmad (28/ 17357) narrated it likewise from Abd al-Samad bin Abd al-Warith, from Hisham al-Dastuwa'i, from Qatadah, from Qays al-Judhami. He too did not mention "al-Hasan" in the chain. Reference / Source: Ahmad also narrated it (17326) by way of Sa'id bin Abi 'Arubah, from Qatadah, who said: "It was mentioned that Qays al-Judhami" and then he mentioned it. (1509). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is the hadith of Abu Hurayrah in Ahmad (16/ 10801), al-Bukhari (2517) and Muslim (1509). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And the narrations of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari and Wathilah bin al-Asqa' will come after it. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And the narration of Amr bin 'Abasah is in Ahmad (28/ 17022), Abu Dawud (3965) and al-Nasa'i (4859, 4868), and its chain is "sahih".
