(1). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will be disagreement and division in my Ummah. There will be people who speak well and act badly; they will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. Any one of you will consider his prayer insignificant compared with their prayer, and his fasting compared with their fasting. They will pass out of the religion as an arrow passes right through the game, and they will not return until the arrow returns (by itself) to its notch on the bowstring (that is, they will never return). They are the worst of creation and created beings. Glad tidings to the one who kills them and the one whom they kill (as a martyr). They will call to the Book of Allah, though they have no connection with it; whoever fights them will be better before Allah than they are." The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah, what is their sign? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shaving the head."
