أخبرَناه أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا موسى بن إسحاق القاضي، حدثنا عبد الله (2) بن أبي شَيْبة، حدثنا وكيع، عن الأعمش، عن سعد بن عُبيدة، عن ابن بُريدة، عن أبيه: أنه مَرَّ على مجلسٍ، ثم ذكر الحديث بنحوه بطوله (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he passed by a gathering, and then he related the whole incident in detail, similar to the previous hadith.

(2) تحرَّف في (ز) إلى: عبيد الله، بالتصغير، وإنما هو بالتكبير، وهو الحافظ أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة، مشهور بكنيته لا باسمه.
Note / Clarification: In manuscript (Z) the name "'Abd Allah" is written in distorted (diminutive) form as "'Ubayd Allah", whereas the correct form is "'Abd Allah" (non-diminutive). This refers to "al-Hafiz Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah" ('Abd Allah bin Muhammad bin Abi Shaybah), who is better known by his kunyah than by his name.
(3) إسناده صحيح.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
وأخرجه أحمد (38/ 23028) و (23057) عن وكيع بن الجراح، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it in his Musnad (38/ 23028) and (23057) via Waki' bin al-Jarrah with this same chain.
