Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 257

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "My Pool is (as wide as) the distance between Aylah and San'a'. Its breadth is equal to its length. Two spouts pour into it from Paradise, one of silver and the other of gold. Its water is sweeter than honey, colder than snow, whiter than milk and softer than butter. On it are jugs as many as the stars of the sky. Whoever drinks from it will never feel thirst until he enters Paradise."
The narrator said that Ayyub added in this narration: "They (the cups) will leap of their own accord into the hands of the believers."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, because he used two hadiths of Abu Talhah al-Rasibi as evidence; and this narration of Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani is gharib (singular) and sahih, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This narration is "sahih li-ghayrihi"; although this chain is weak (da'if) because of the weakness of Rawh bin Aslam, he has been corroborated (mutaba'ah).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Ahmad (33/19804) narrated it from Abu Sa'id Abd al-Rahman bin Abd Allah (the client of Banu Hashim), and Ibn Hibban (6458) via al-Nadr bin Shumayl; both of them from Shaddad Abu Talhah, with this chain.
Grading: With these two corroborations its chain becomes hasan.
Note / Clarification: For further supporting reports, see "Musnad Ahmad".

Technical note / Defect ('illah): The one who said this is Rawh bin Aslam, as stated explicitly in al-Bazzar's "Musnad" (3849) and (4496); there, in the narration of Shaddad bin Sa'id (Abu Talhah), it has the addition "from Ayyub from Abu al-Wazi'", i.e. Ayyub was inserted between Shaddad and Abu al-Wazi'. And Rawh is weak.
Note / Clarification: The Arabic word "tanzu" means: to leap and jump.
