It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two supplications are not rejected (or he said: are seldom rejected): one at the time of the call to prayer (adhan), and the other at the time in battle when the two armies are locked together with one another." And in another narration there is the addition: "Also at the time of rain (the supplication is not rejected)."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The hadith is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In corroborating chains and supporting reports this chain is "hasan" because of Musa bin Ya'qub al-Zam'i, and he has been corroborated.
Details of the narration: This hadith passed earlier at no. (730) via the route of Ahmad bin Mihran from Sa'id bin Abi Maryam.

Grading: Its chain is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This chain is weak because Rizq bin Sa'id is "majhul" (unknown).
Reference / Source: As al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar stated explicitly in "Nata'ij al-Afkar" (1/ 369, the 77th session).
Reference / Source: Imam Abu Dawud narrated it (2540) with the chain of al-Hasan bin Ali from Sa'id bin Abi Maryam.
Grading: This narration is "maqtu'" but "jayyid" (good), and it takes the ruling of a "mursal", because such a matter cannot be said from opinion and reasoning.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is no harm in the narrator al-Sa'qab (on the pattern of "Ja'far") (he is acceptable).
Important point: Sa'id bin Mansur narrated from Hammad bin Zayd, from al-Sa'qab bin Zuhayr, from Ata' bin Abi Rabah, who said: "The gates of heaven are opened at three times, so seek out supplication at them", and among them he mentioned the descent of rain. This is an important report concerning the acceptance of supplication when rain falls.
