Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
5/ (3444). Grading: Its chain is sahih. Abu al-Aliyah is Rufay' bin Mihran. Reference / Source: Ibn Majah narrated it via Muhammad bin Yahya al-Dhuhli. Grammatical note: "Ramyan" here is an absolute object (maf'ul mutlaq) whose verb ("irmu" - shoot) is omitted. Scholarly note: Allamah al-Munawi says that it contains the merit of archery and encouragement to exercise and train with the intention of jihad; also that a grandfather may be called "father", and that following the good traits of one's forefathers is recommended.
