Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 2102

Farwah bin Nawfal al-Ashja'i narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had entrusted to him (for upbringing) the daughter of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) and had said: "You are only (like) a foster-parent to me." He says: Then I came to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he asked: "What has become of the little girl?" I said: "She is with her mother." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For what purpose have you come?" He said: "I have come so that you may teach me something to say when I go to sleep." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite 'Say: O disbelievers', for it is a disavowal of shirk (associating partners with Allah)." [Surah al-Kafirun: 1]
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: The manuscripts wrongly had "Abi Isra'il"; the correct name is "Isra'il" (bin Yunus), as in al-Bayhaqi and other sources.

Grading: According to al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar this hadith is "hasan". It was called hasan because of the disagreement in the chain on Abu Ishaq.
