It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Learn the Qur'an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for its people, and recite the two radiant ones (al-Zahrawan)." It was asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what are the two radiant ones?" He said: "Surah al-Baqarah and Surah Al Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as though they were two clouds, or two canopies, or two flocks of white birds with outspread wings; they will defend their people. Learn Surah al-Baqarah, for acquiring it is a blessing and abandoning it is a cause of regret, and the sorcerers (or the idle) are not able to withstand it."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The hadith is sahih, but there is a break between Zayd bin Sallam and Abu Umamah; he heard it from his grandfather Abu Sallam, as is made explicit in other narrations. Repetition: The abridged narration of Aban will come at number (3172). Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban narrated it as connected (muttasil) through the chain of 'Ali bin al-Mubarak from Yahya bin Abi Kathir. Reference / Source: In Sahih Muslim it is narrated by way of Mu'awiyah bin Sallam, in which hearing from the grandfather is mentioned. (2080). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic, the hadith of Buraydah al-Aslami has passed at number (2080). (2059). Guidance: For the intercession of the Qur'an, see the hadith of 'Abd Allah bin 'Amr (2059). Note / Clarification: "Al-batalah" means sorcerers, because they bring falsehood (batil). Note / Clarification: "Al-Zahrawan" means the two radiant and shining surahs (al-Baqarah and Al 'Imran).
