حدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ، أخبرنا إبراهيم بن عبد الله السَّعدي، أخبرنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا زكريا بن أبي زائدة. وحدثني أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا بشر بن موسى الأسدي، حدثنا أبو نُعيم، حدثنا زكريا بن أبي زائدة، عن الشعبي، عن خارجة بن الصَّلْت التميمي، عن عمه: أنه مرَّ بقوم وعندهم مجنون مُوثَقٌ في الحديد، فقال له بعضهم: أعندك شيء يُداوَى به هذا؟ فإنَّ صاحبكم قد جاء بخير، قال: فقرأت عليه فاتحة الكتاب ثلاثةَ أيام في كلِّ يوم مرتين، فبَرأ، فأعطاه مئةَ شاةٍ، فأتى النبيَّ ﷺ، فذكر ذلك له، فقال: "كُلْ، فمَن أكل برُقْيةِ باطلٍ، فقد أكلتَ برُقْيَةِ حَقٍّ" (1). هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.
Kharijah bin al-Salt al-Tamimi narrates from his paternal uncle that he passed by a people who had with them a madman bound in iron chains. One of them said to him: "Do you have anything with which he can be treated? For your companion (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) has brought good." He said: I recited the Opening of the Book (al-Fatihah) over him for three days, twice every day, and he recovered. That man gave him a hundred sheep. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and related the whole incident, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat, for whoever eats by means of a false ruqyah (is a sinner), but you have eaten by means of a true ruqyah."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده حسن من أجل خارجة بن الصلت، فقد روى عنه غير واحد، وذكره ابن حبان وابن خلفون في "الثقات"، وقال الذهبي: محله الصدق؛ وهو كما قال أبو نعيم: هو الفضل بن دُكين، والشعبي: هو عامر بن شَراحيل. Grading: Because of Kharijah bin al-Salt this chain is "hasan". According to Imam al-Dhahabi he is a truthful narrator. Abu Nu'aym is al-Fadl bin Dukayn and al-Sha'bi is 'Amir bin Sharahil. وأخرجه أحمد 36/ (21835)، وأبو داود (3896)، وابن حبان في "صحيحه" (6111) من طريقين عن زكريا بن أبي زائدة، بهذا الإسناد. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Ibn Hibban narrated it by way of Zakariyya bin Abi Za'idah. وأخرجه أحمد (21836)، وأبو داود (3420) و (3897) و (3901)، والنسائي (7492) و (10804) من طريق عبد الله بن أبي السفر، عن الشعبي، به.
