It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah has His own people among mankind." The Companions said: "O Messenger of Allah, who are they?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people of the Qur'an are the people of Allah and His special servants."
This hadith has been narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) through three routes, and this is the best of them.

Criticism of a narrator: It was narrated from Imam Malik by Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin Ghazwan, and this narrator (Ibn Ghazwan) is accused of fabricating (forging) hadith. Reference / Source: Al-Diya' al-Maqdisi narrated it under the name "Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin Qurad"; this is the same Ibn Ghazwan who is accused of fabricating hadith.
