It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Hatim (al-Hijr) is also part of the House of Allah, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed tawaf of the House of Allah from outside it, and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: "And let them perform tawaf of the Ancient House." [Surah al-Hajj: 29]
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrih", and, if Allah wills, this chain is "hasan" on account of Hisham bin Hujayr. Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "al-Sunan al-Kubra" (5/90) and "al-Sughra" (1634) through Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim with this same chain. Reference / Source: Imam al-Shafi'i narrated it in full and in part in "al-Umm" (3/449), and through him al-Bayhaqi in "Ma'rifat al-Sunan wa al-Athar" (9918); Abd al-Razzaq (8985, 9149) also narrated it. Details of the narration: Al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (10988), Ishaq bin Rahawayh (764) and Ibn Khuzaymah (2740) narrated it by way of Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah. Technical note / Defect ('illah): However, the chain of Imam al-Shafi'i has the words "from Tawus, I think he said: from Ibn 'Abbas", while the chain of Abd al-Razzaq and Ibn Rahawayh has, with doubt, "from Tawus or someone else, from Ibn 'Abbas". Reference / Source: Al-Azraqi narrated it in "Akhbar Makkah" (1/312) through his grandfather Ahmad bin Muhammad bin al-Walid, from Sufyan, from Hisham bin Hujayr, that Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Hijr (Hatim) is part of the House." It does not mention Tawus. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Its supporting report is the hadith of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), narrated by al-Bukhari (1584) and Muslim (1333), in which she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the wall (Hatim): is it part of the House? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." Reference / Source: It is also in Musnad Ahmad (41/24616), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you wish to enter the House, pray in the Hijr (Hatim), for it is a part of the House."
