Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1694

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that whenever the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed tawaf of the House of Allah, he would wipe his hand over the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner in every circuit, or (the narrator) said: he would touch them (istilam).
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This chain is strong (qawi) on account of Abd al-'Aziz bin Abi Rawwad.
Reference / Source: Ahmad, Abu Dawud (1876) and al-Nasa'i narrated it with this same chain of Abd al-'Aziz bin Abi Rawwad.
Important point: Several narrators narrated it from Nafi' without the explicit statement that he would touch them in every circuit (al-Bukhari 1606, Muslim 1268).
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad, Muslim and al-Nasa'i narrated it with the chain of 'Ubayd Allah bin 'Umar al-'Umari from Nafi', that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would touch only the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner.
Reference / Source: According to Sahih Muslim and Ibn Hibban, Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would touch the Black Stone with his hand and then kiss his hand, and he would say that he had not abandoned it since he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) doing it.
Reference / Source: It is narrated in Musnad Ahmad that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah, he touched the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner, and did not touch any corner other than these.
Details of the narration: Narrations with the same meaning are found through the routes of Salim bin Abd Allah and 'Ubayd bin Jurayj in Ahmad, al-Bukhari, Muslim and the four Sunan. In the long hadith of 'Ubayd bin Jurayj it says: "As for the corners, I only saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) touch the two Yemeni corners."
