أخبرني أبو تُراب أحمد بن محمد المذكِّر بالنَّوْقان، حدثنا تَمِيم بن محمد، حدثنا محمد بن أسلَم الزاهد، حدثنا مُؤمَّل بن إسماعيل، حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة، حدثنا ثابت، عن أنس قال: وَجَدَ رسول الله ﷺ ذاتَ ليلة شيئًا، فلما أصبح قيل: يا رسول الله، إن أثَرَ الوجَع عليك لبيِّنٌ، قال: "أَمَا إنِّي على (1) ما تَرَون، بحمد الله قد قرأتُ السَّبعَ الطِّوال" (2).

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that one night the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) felt some pain. When morning came, it was said: O Messenger of Allah, the effects of pain on you are quite evident. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, I am in the state you see, but by the grace of Allah I have recited (tonight) the seven long surahs (al-Sab' al-Tiwal)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but they did not record it.

(1) في (ز) و (ب): إني إنما أثر علي، وفي (ص) و (ع) نحوه بإسقاط لفظ "إني"، وكل ذلك تحريف، والتصويب من "شعب الإيمان" للبيهقي (2204) حيث رواه عن المصنف بإسناده ومتنه، ووقع في المطبوع منه: حدثنا تميم بن محمد بن أسلم الزاهد، وهو خطأ، فهو من رواية تميم بن محمد - وهو ابن طُمغاج الطوسي - عن محمد بن أسلم الطوسي الزاهد.
Technical note: (1) The wording in the manuscripts had been corrupted; it has been corrected in the light of al-Bayhaqi's "Shu'ab al-Iman" (2204). This narration is through the chain of Tamim bin Muhammad al-Tusi from Muhammad bin Aslam al-Tusi al-Zahid.
(2) إسناده ضعيف، مؤمل بن إسماعيل اتفق أكثر النقاد على أنه سيئ الحفظ كثير الخطأ، وقال البخاري: منكر الحديث. قلنا: وعلى هذا فإنه ضعيف يعتبر به في المتابعات والشواهد، وقد تفرد في هذا الحديث.
Grading: (2) Its chain is da'if. Most critics agree that Mu'ammal bin Isma'il had a poor memory and made many mistakes; Imam al-Bukhari called him "munkar al-hadith". He is alone in narrating this hadith.
وأخرجه ابن حبان (319) من طريق الحسن بن الصباح البزار، عن مؤمل بن إسماعيل، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban (319) narrated it through the route of al-Hasan bin al-Sabbah al-Bazzar, from Mu'ammal bin Isma'il.
