Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In manuscript (B) the name was distorted into "Abd Allah bin Muhammad bin Abi Masirah", while in the printed edition it is written as "Abd Allah bin Muhammad bin Abi Maysarah".
Grading: This hadith is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Its chain is strong on account of Ibn 'Ajlan (who is Muhammad bin 'Ajlan), for he is saduq (truthful) and there is no harm in him. Al-Hafiz al-Dhahabi declared it sahih in his book "al-Talkhis". Details of the narration: Abu Salih here refers to "Dhakwan al-Samman". Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it in "al-Musnad" 16/ (10817) from Abd Allah bin Yazid al-Muqri' with this same chain. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad also narrated it in similar wording at: 16/ (10022), (10066), (10232) and (10240), and Ibn Hibban at (91), by way of Muhammad bin Ziyad; and Imam Ahmad narrated it at 14/ (8822) by way of Abd Allah bin Shaqiq; both of them (Muhammad bin Ziyad and Abd Allah bin Shaqiq) narrate from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
