Abu Muslima (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ever pray in his shoes?" He replied, "Yes!"

Signs of displeasure appeared on the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so we said to him, "Sit down, you have asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a question which he did not like." This happened three times in the same way. Finally, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "O brother! What preparation have you made for the Hour?" He replied, "I have prepared that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You will be with the one you love on the Day of Judgment."

Then her family offered compensation to the family of the girl, but they refused. Then they asked them for forgiveness, but they also refused to forgive and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and demanded retribution (qisas). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered qisas. In the meantime, her brother and Hazrat Anas’s (may Allah be pleased with him) uncle, Anas bin Nadr, arrived and said, “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Will the tooth of Rubayyi‘ be broken?” By the One Who has sent you with the truth, her tooth will not be broken.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Anas! The decision of the Book of Allah is qisas.” In the meantime, they became pleased and forgave them and abandoned the demand for qisas. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “There are some servants of Allah who, if they swear an oath by Allah regarding something, Allah certainly fulfills their oath.”

Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says, "I have never seen the Muslims as happy as they were on that day after accepting Islam."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that at the time of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) arrival in Madinah Munawwarah, his age was ten years. He says that his mother used to encourage him to serve the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), therefore, when the command of veil (purdah) was revealed, I knew the situation of that time better than anyone else. That night, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had seclusion with Hazrat Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her), and in the morning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was a bridegroom. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) invited the people, they came, ate food, and left, but some people remained sitting there and stayed for quite a while, until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself got up and went outside. I also went outside so that they might leave as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and I, while walking, stopped at the threshold of Hazrat Aisha’s (may Allah be pleased with her) chamber. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) thought that perhaps those people had now left, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, and I was with him. When we saw, indeed those people had gone. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered inside and hung a curtain, and Allah revealed the verse of hijab.

Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that one day we were sitting in the mosque with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man riding a camel arrived. He made the camel sit in the mosque, dismounted, tied the she-camel with a rope, and then began to ask, "Who among you is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)?" At that time, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in the middle, reclining on a cushion. We replied, "This fair-skinned man who is reclining on the cushion is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)." That man turned towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O son of Abdul Muttalib!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes, I am listening (state your purpose)." The man said, "I want to ask you something, and I will be a bit harsh in questioning, so do not be angry with me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ask whatever you wish." He said, "I ask you by the Lord of you and those before you, has Allah sent you as a Prophet for all people?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes, by Allah! (He has sent me as a Prophet for all people.)" He said, "I ask you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to offer five prayers in the day and night?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes, by Allah." He said, "I ask you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to fast in the month of Ramadan every year?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes, by Allah." He said, "I ask you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to take zakat from our wealthy and distribute it among our poor?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes, by Allah!" Upon hearing this, the man said, "I believe in everything you have brought (from Allah), and I am the representative of my people, and my name is Dhamam bin Tha’labah."

He replied, "Once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led the Zuhr prayer and then went and sat at the place where Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) used to come to him. Then Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came and gave the adhan for Asr. Every person who had a house in Madinah Munawwarah got up and went for relieving himself and for ablution. Some Muhajireen remained who had no house in Madinah. A large vessel of water was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed his palms in it, but the vessel was not spacious enough, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed only four fingers in it and said, 'Come close and perform ablution from it.' At that time, the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in the vessel. So all of them performed ablution from it, and there was not a single person left who did not perform ablution." I asked, "O Abu Hamzah! In your opinion, how many people were there?" He replied, "Between seventy and eighty."

When the Prophet (peace be upon him) learned of this, he called the Ansari companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and gathered them in a tent made of leather, and did not allow anyone else to enter. When they had all gathered, the Prophet (peace be upon him) came and said, "What are these things I have heard about you?" They replied that it was true and they had not lied. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Are you not pleased that people go away with wealth and property, and you return to your homes with the Messenger of Allah? If all the people were to walk in one valley or mountain pass, and the Ansar in another, I would choose the valley and mountain pass of the Ansar."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, “If you go to our camels and drink their milk, perhaps you will recover.” So they did so, but when they became healthy, they reverted to disbelief and apostatized. They killed the Muslim shepherd of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and drove away the Prophet’s camels. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent companions after them, and they were captured and brought before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides, their eyes be branded with hot irons, and they were left in the rocky area until they died.
