It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Remain close to the straight path and stay on the right way! For none of you will be saved by his deeds. A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), not even you?" He replied, "Not even me, unless my Lord covers me with His forgiveness and mercy."

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "What do you find unusual or foreign in my prayer?" I said, "This is what I wanted to ask you about." He said, "Yes, rather (the Prophet's prayer) was even shorter than this."

Do you have any verdict regarding this garment of mine?" He raised his head towards him and said, "The Truthful and Trusted, my beloved Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him), informed me that a man, dressed in his precious robe, was walking arrogantly, boasting about himself, when suddenly Allah caused him to be swallowed by the earth, and now he will continue to sink in the earth until the Day of Resurrection."
