Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The superiority of prayer offered in congregation over prayer offered alone is twenty-five degrees more.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The fasting person has two occasions of joy and happiness; when he breaks his fast, he is happy, and when he meets Allah, he will also be happy. The breath of the fasting person’s mouth is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Perform the prayer after letting it cool down, for indeed the severity of heat is from the effect of the heat of Hell.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not undertake a journey specifically to any mosque except for three mosques: one is the Sacred Mosque (Masjid al-Haram), the second is this mosque of mine (the Prophet's Mosque), and the third is Al-Aqsa Mosque."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever loves the Ansar, Allah loves him, and whoever harbors enmity towards the Ansar, Allah hates him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If there had been no migration, I would have been one of the Ansar. If people were to walk in one valley and the Ansar in another valley, I would walk with the Ansar in their valley.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited (the use of) Muzaffat, Muqayyar, Naqeer, Dubbā’, and Hantam, and also said that every intoxicating thing is forbidden.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: True charity is with contentment of the heart. The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and you should begin charity and alms with those who are under your responsibility.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Modesty is a part of faith, and faith leads to Paradise, and obscene speech is a part of harshness, and harshness leads to Hell.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever attributes to me something which I have not said, he should make his abode in Hell.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In an old man, the love for two things becomes young: a long life and abundance of wealth and property.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The wound caused by an animal is without liability, the blood of one who dies by falling into a well is without liability, the blood of one who dies in a mine is also without liability, and for buried treasure that someone finds, one-fifth (khums) is obligatory.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) in a marfu’ form that: Do not make deals with traders by meeting them outside (the market); no townsman should trade on behalf of a villager; avoid malice, envy, and deceit with one another; and O servants of Allah! Live as brothers among yourselves.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been given comprehensive words, and I have been helped through awe. The entire earth has been made a mosque and a means of purification for me, and once, while I was sleeping, the keys to all the treasures of the earth were brought to me and placed in my hand.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah). When they say the kalimah, they have protected their lives and wealth from me, except for the right of this kalimah, and their reckoning is with Allah.

Abu Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say takbeer at every rising and lowering while leading them in prayer, and when he finished, he would say that in terms of prayer, I am the most similar to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) among you.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any one of you offers prayer and then remains seated on his prayer mat, the angels continuously say: O Allah, forgive him. O Allah, have mercy on him, as long as he does not lose his ablution or leave from there.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would raise his head from the bowing (ruku) of the second rak'ah of the Fajr prayer, he would supplicate: O Allah! Grant deliverance to Walid bin Walid, Salamah bin Hisham, Ayyash bin Abi Rabi'ah, and the other weak ones in Makkah Mukarramah from the oppression and tyranny of the Quraysh. O Allah! Seize the tribe of Mudar with a severe grip and inflict upon them a famine like that in the time of Hazrat Yusuf (peace be upon him). Then he would say Allahu Akbar and go into prostration.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you lead the prayer as an imam, then lead a light (short) prayer, because among the worshippers are the elderly, the weak, and the sick. However, when one prays alone, he may prolong it as much as he wishes.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I wish that I fight in the way of Allah and attain martyrdom, then be granted life again, then participate in jihad and be martyred, then participate in jihad and be martyred. And if it were not a hardship upon the Muslims, I would never stay behind from any army that sets out in the way of Allah, but I do not have enough means to provide mounts for all, and they do not have enough means to follow me. I fear that they may not be content in their hearts and may refrain from participating in jihad after me.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Seventy thousand people from my Ummah will enter Paradise whose faces will shine like the moon of the fourteenth night. Hazrat Ukasha bin Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up lifting his sheet and submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah that He includes me among them." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, "O Allah, include him among them." Then another Ansari man stood up and made the same request, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ukasha has preceded you."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best women who ride camels are the women of Quraysh, who are most compassionate to their children in childhood and are the greatest protectors of their husbands with regard to their own selves.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Tufail bin Amr Dausi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "The people of the tribe of Daus are persistent in disobedience and denial, so please supplicate against them." Thereupon, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards the Qiblah and raised both hands. The people said, "The people of the tribe of Daus are destroyed." But the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed three times, "O Allah! Grant guidance to the tribe of Daus and bring them here."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Yemen have come to you; these people are soft-hearted, and faith, wisdom, and jurisprudence are very excellent among the people of Yemen.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), if you knew what I know, you would begin to weep much and laugh little.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You may narrate traditions from the Children of Israel, there is no harm in it. And a man was driving a cow along the road, then he rode on it and started beating it, then the narrator mentioned the complete hadith.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Although we came last, on the Day of Resurrection we will surpass everyone. The only difference is that every nation was given the Book before us, while we received the Book later. Then, Friday was appointed for them by Allah, but they differed regarding it. So Allah guided us to it, and now people follow us in this matter. The Jews have the next day (Saturday), and the Christians have the day after that (Sunday).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people before you were destroyed only because of excessive questioning and differing with their prophets (peace be upon them). Therefore, do not ask me too many questions unless I myself tell you something. During this, Hazrat Abdullah bin Huzafah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who is my father?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your father is Huzafah bin Qais." Hearing this, he went to his mother. She said, "What was the need for you to ask this question? We used to live in the age of ignorance and commit evil deeds." He said, "I wished to know who my father is and who is an ordinary man."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has ninety-nine names, one less than a hundred; whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a Bedouin came to Masjid Nabawi while the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was present there. He began to supplicate: "O Allah! Have mercy on me and on Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and do not include anyone else with us in it." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled, turned towards him, and said, "You have confined the vast mercy of Allah." Shortly after, that Bedouin began to urinate in the mosque. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, went to him, and said, "These mosques are made for the remembrance of Allah and for prayer; urine is not to be passed in them." Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) called for a bucket of water and poured it over the urine. After this, when the Bedouin understood, he used to say, "May my parents be sacrificed for the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him); he came to me standing, he did not abuse me, did not scold me, and did not beat me."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you will be saved by his deeds. A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), not even you?" He replied, "Not even me, unless my Lord covers me with His forgiveness and mercy. However, you should remain steadfast on the straight path."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making two transactions in one deal and wearing two types of clothing, and that is when a person sits wrapped in a single garment with nothing covering his private parts, and that a person wraps himself in his lower garment while praying.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever offers the funeral prayer of a Muslim with faith and the intention of reward will receive a reward equal to one qirat, and whoever waits until the burial is completed will receive a reward equal to two qirats, each of which is as great as the mountain of Uhud.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever stands (in prayer) during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven; and likewise, whoever stands (in prayer) during the Night of Qadr with faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once the fire of Hell sought permission from its Lord. Allah granted it permission to breathe twice a year (once in the cold and once in the heat). Thus, the most intense heat is due to the effect of the heat of Hell, and the most intense cold is also due to the effect of the coldness of Hell.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Disputing about the Qur'an is disbelief.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every good deed of the son of Adam is increased for him from ten times to seven hundred times, except for fasting (about which Allah Almighty says): Fasting is especially for Me and I Myself will give its reward. The fasting person leaves his desires and food for My sake. The fasting person has two occasions of joy and happiness: when he breaks his fast, he is happy, and when he meets Allah Almighty, he will also be happy. The breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever drags his lower garment on the ground out of pride, Allah will not look at him with mercy.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Perform ablution after eating something cooked on fire, even if it is pieces of cheese.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the call to prayer (adhan) is given, Satan runs away while passing wind loudly so that he does not hear the adhan. When the adhan is finished, he comes back and puts doubts in the heart of a person so that he forgets. Therefore, if any of you has doubt in his prayer, after saying salam, while sitting, he should perform two prostrations of forgetfulness (sajda sahw).
