Hadith 8596
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَامَانُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ الْأَصْبَحِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " سَيَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي دَجَّالُونَ كَذَّابُونَ ، يُحَدِّثُونَكُمْ بِبِدَعٍ مِنَ الْحَدِيثِ بِمَا لَمْ تَسْمَعُوا أَنْتُمْ وَلَا آبَاؤُكُمْ ، فَإِيَّاكُمْ وَإِيَّاهُمْ ، لَا يَفْتِنُونَكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon there will appear among my Ummah some Dajjal (imposters) and great liars who will narrate to you such ahadith which neither you nor your forefathers have heard. Beware of them and keep away from them, lest they put you into trial (fitnah).
Hadith 8597
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ سُلَيْمُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لَوْلَا حَوَّاءُ ، لَمْ تَخُنْ أُنْثَى زَوْجَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If it were not for Hazrat Hawwa (Eve), no woman would betray her husband.
Hadith 8598
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " كُلُّ ابْنِ آدَمَ أَصَابَ مِنَ الزِّنَا لَا مَحَالَةَ ، فَالْعَيْنُ زِنَاهَا النَّظَرُ ، وَالْيَدُ زِنَاهَا اللَّمْسُ ، وَالنَّفْسُ تَهْوَى وَتُحَدِّثُ ، وَيُصَدِّقُ ذَلِكَ وَيُكَذِّبُهُ الْفَرْجُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah has written for every human being his share of adultery, which he will inevitably get. The adultery of the eyes is looking, the adultery of the hands is touching, a person's soul desires and wishes, while the private part confirms or denies it.
Hadith 8599
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنَ الْمَغْرِبِ ، فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ الشَّمْسُ مِنَ الْمَغْرِبِ ، آمَنَ النَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ ، وَذَلِكَ حِينَ لا يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْرًا سورة الأنعام آية 158 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until the sun rises from the west. When the sun rises from the west, people will believe in Allah, but at that time, the faith of any person will not benefit him who had not believed before or had not earned any good through his faith.
Hadith 8600
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ ، فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الْعَمَلِ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take upon yourselves only as much of deeds as you are able, for the best deed is that which is done consistently, even if it is little in amount.
Hadith 8601
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ : رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لبَِنى عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ : " يا بنى عبد المطلب ، اشْتَرُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ ، يَا بنى هاشم ، اشْتَرُوا أنَفْسَكُمْ مِنَ الِلَََََََّه ، يا بنى عبدِ منَافٍ ، اشَْتُروا أَنْفسَُكُمْ مِنَ الِله ، يا أُمَّ الزُّبَيْرِ عَمَّةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَيَا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، اشْتَرِيَا أَنْفُسَكُمَا مِنَ اللَّهِ ، فَإِنِّي لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمَا مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ، وَاسْأَلَانِي مَا شِئْتُمَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to the Banu Abdul Muttalib: O Banu Abdul Muttalib, save yourselves from Allah (by doing good deeds); O Banu Hashim, save yourselves from Allah; O Banu Abd Manaf, save yourselves from Allah; O aunt of the Messenger of Allah, Umm Zubair, and O Fatimah bint Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), save yourselves from Allah, for I have no authority from Allah to do anything for you. However, you may ask me for (wealth and possessions) whatever you wish.
Hadith 8602
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، قَال : لَأَتَصَدَّقَنَّ اللَّيْلَةَ بِمَالِي ، فَخَرَجَ بِهِ فَوَضَعَهُ فِي يَدِ زَانِيَةٍ ، فَأَصْبَحَ النَّاسُ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ : تُصُدِّقَ عَلَى فُلَانَةَ الزَّانِيَةِ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ بِمَالٍ َأَيْضًا ، فَوَضَعَهُ فِي يَدِ سَارِقٍ ، فَأَصْبَحَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ : تُصُدِّقَ عَلَى فُلَانٍ السَّارِقِ ، ثم ََّخَرَجَ بِمَالٍ أَيْضًا ، فَوَضَعَهُ فِي يَدِ رَجُلٍ غَنِيٍّ ، وقَالَ : لَوْ شِئْتُ لَقُلْتُ : لَا يَدْرِي حَيْثُ وَضَعَهُ ، فَرَجَعَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ ، فقال : وضعت صَدَقتي عند زانيةٍ ، ثمََََََََّ وضَعتْهُا عند سارقٍ ، ثمَََََََََّ وضَعتهُا عند غَني ! فَأُرِيَ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنَّ صَدَقَتَكَ قَدْ قُبِلَتْ ، أَمَّا الزَّانِيَة ، فَلَعَلَّهَا تَعِفُّ عَنْ زِنَاهَا ، وَأَمَّا السَّارِقُ ، فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يُغْنِيَهُ عَنِ السَّرِقَةِ ، وَأَمَّا الْغَنِيُّ , فَلَعَلَّهُ يَعْتَبِرُ فِي مَالِهِ " .
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man from the Children of Israel said, "Tonight I will give charity." So he went out with his charity and unknowingly gave it into the hands of an immoral woman. In the morning, people began to talk that last night an immoral woman received charity. The next night, he again went out with his charity and placed it in the hands of a thief. In the morning, people talked that last night a thief received charity. On the third night, he again went out with his charity and unknowingly gave it to a wealthy man. In the morning, people talked that last night a wealthy man received charity. That man said, "I have given charity to a thief, an immoral woman, and a wealthy man." Then he saw in a dream that it was said to him, "Your charity has been accepted. As for the charity you gave to the thief, perhaps because of it he may refrain from stealing. And the charity you gave to the immoral woman, perhaps because of it she may give up immorality. As for the wealthy man, perhaps he may take heed from it."
Hadith 8603
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَخْرٍ ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ دَخَلَ مَسْجِدَنَا هَذَا لِيَتَعَلَّمَ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيُعَلِّمَهُ ، كَانَ كَالْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَمَنْ دَخَلَهُ لِغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ ، كَانَ كَالنَّاظِرِ إِلَى مَا لَيْسَ لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever enters our mosque to learn or teach goodness is like a Mujahid in the way of Allah, and whoever comes for any other purpose is like a person who looks at something which he has no right to look at.
Hadith 8604
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ سُلَيْمُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَة ، يَقُولُ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ شَيْئًا أَحْسَنَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ كَأَنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَجْرِي فِي جَبْهَتِهِ ، وَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَسْرَعَ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَأَنَّمَا الْأَرْضُ تُطْوَى لَهُ ، إِنَّا لَنُجْهِدُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَغَيْرُ مُكْتَرِثٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have not seen anyone more handsome than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); it seemed as if the sun was shining on his forehead. And I have not seen anyone faster than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); it seemed as if the earth was folded up for him. We would walk with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with great difficulty, but no sign of hardship was visible on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 8604M
وَعَنْهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَعْطُوا الْعَامِلَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ ، فَإِنَّ عَامِلَ اللَّهِ لَا يَخِيبُ " .
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give the laborer his wages, for Allah's laborer is not disgraced."
Hadith 8605
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ لُوطًا ، فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ يَأْوِي إِلَى رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ " .
It is narrated with the same chain that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: May Allah's mercy be upon Prophet Lot (peace be upon him), he was seeking support from a strong pillar.
Hadith 8606
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَيَفْرَحُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَنْقَلِبَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ بِخَلِفَتَيْنِ ؟ " قَالُوا : نَعَم ، قَالَ : " فَآيَتَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَيَخْرُجُ بِهِمَا إِلَى أَهْلِهِ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ خَلِفَتَيْنِ " .
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Does any one of you like that he should return to his family with two pregnant she-camels? The companions said: Yes (everyone desires that). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever returns to his house with two verses from the Noble Qur'an, those two verses are better for him than two pregnant she-camels.
Hadith 8607
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَتَمَنَّى أَحَدُكُمْ الْمَوْتَ ، وَلَا يَدْعُو بِهِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ قَدْ وَثِقَ بِعَمَلِهِ ، فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ مَاتَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، انْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ ، وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَزِيدُ الْمُؤْمِنَ عُمْرُهُ إِلَّا خَيْرًا " .
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should wish for death, nor supplicate for it before it comes, except if he has great confidence in his deeds. For when any of you dies, his deeds are cut off, whereas the believer only increases in goodness during his life.
Hadith 8608
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " كُلُّ نَفْسٍ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهَا الصَّدَقَةُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَمِنْ ذَلِكَ أَنْ يَعْدِلَ بَيْنَ الِاثْنَيْنِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَأَنْ يُعِينَ الرَّجُلَ عَلَى دَابَّتِهِ ، فَيَحْمِلَهُ عَلَيْهَا صَدَقَةٌ ، وَيَرْفَعَ مَتَاعَهُ عَلَيْهَا صَدَقَة ، وَيُمِيطُ الْأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَالْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَكُلُّ خُطْوَةٍ يَمْشِي إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ صَدَقَةٌ " .
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It has been made obligatory upon every person to give charity every day in which the sun rises. Its form is that making justice between two people is charity, helping a man by mounting him on his ride or lifting his belongings onto it is charity, removing something harmful from the road is charity, speaking a good word is charity, and every step taken towards prayer is charity.
Hadith 8609
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، لَا يَسْمَعُ بِي أَحَدٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ يَهُودِيٌّ ، أَوْ نَصْرَانِيٌّ ، ثُمَّ يَمُوتُ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِالَّذِي أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ ، إِلَّا كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ " .
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), if this word of mine reaches anyone from this Ummah, or any Jew or Christian, and he hears it and dies without believing in the revelation that has been sent to me, then he is of the people of Hell.
Hadith 8610
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ : كَذَّبَنِي عَبْدِي ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ لِيُكَذِّبَنِي ، وَشَتَمَنِي عَبْدِي ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَتْمِي ، فَأَمَّا تَكْذِيبُهُ إِيَّايَ ، فَيَقُولُ : لَنْ يُعِيدَنِي كَالَّذِي بَدَأَنِي ، وَلَيْسَ آخِرُ الْخَلْقِ أَهْوَنُ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أُعِيدَهُ مِنْ أَوَّلِهِ ، فَقَدْ كَذَّبَنِي إِنْ قَالَهَا ، وَأَمَّا شَتْمُهُ إِيَّاي ، فَيَقُولُ : اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا ، أَنَا اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ الصَّمَدُ ، لَمْ أَلِدْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "My servant denies Me, though he should not do so, and he speaks ill of Me, though he has no right to do so. The denial is that he says: 'Allah will not create me again as He created me the first time,' though recreating him a second time is not more difficult for Me than creating him the first time (both are equal). And the speaking ill is that he says: 'Allah has taken a child,' though I am the Self-Sufficient (As-Samad), who neither begets nor is begotten."
Hadith 8611
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا اكْتَحَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلْيَكْتَحِلْ وِتْرًا ، وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ فَلْيَسْتَجْمِرْ وِتْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you applies kohl, he should apply it to his eyes in an odd number of strokes, and when he performs istinja with stones, he should also use an odd number of stones.
Hadith 8612
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا اكْتَحَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلْيَكْتَحِلْ وِتْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you applies kohl, he should pass the applicator in his eyes an odd number of times.
Hadith 8613
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ ثَلَاثَةٌ جَمِيعًا ، فَلَا يَتَنَاجَ اثْنَانِ دُونَ الثَّالِثِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When three people are together, two of them should not whisper to each other excluding the third.
Hadith 8614
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ " ، فَقَالَ عُكَّاشَةُ بْنُ مِحْصَنٍ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، فقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْهُم " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ آخَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، قَالَ : " قَدْ سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ " .
And it is narrated with the previous chain that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Seventy thousand people from my Ummah will enter Paradise without reckoning. Hazrat Ukasha (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah that He includes me among them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed: O Allah, include him among them. Then another person stood up and made the same request, but the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Ukasha has preceded you.
Hadith 8615
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نِعْمَ الْقَوْمُ الْأَزْدُ ، طَيِّبَةٌ أَفْوَاهُهُمْ ، بَرَّةٌ أَيْمَانُهُمْ ، نَقِيَّةٌ قُلُوبُهُم " .
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: How excellent are the people of the tribe of Azd! Their mouths are pure, their faith is excellent, and their hearts are clean and pure.
Hadith 8616
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ عبدُ الَّله بن أحمد : قال أَبِي : لَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ قَالَ : جَاءَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ إِلَى مُوسَي ، فَقَالَ : أَجِبْ رَبَّكَ ، فَلَطَمَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام عَيْنَ مَلَكِ الْمَوْتِ فَفَقَأَهَا ، فَرَجَعَ الْمَلَكُ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّكَ بَعَثْتَنِي إِلَى عَبْدٍ لَكَ لَا يُرِيدُ الْمَوْتَ ، وَقَدْ فَقَأَ عَيْنِي ، قَالَ : فَرَدَّ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ عَيْنَهُ ، وَقَال : ارْجِعْ إِلَى عَبْدِي فَقُلْ لَهُ : الْحَيَاةَ تُرِيدُ ؟ فَإِنْ كُنْتَ تُرِيدُ الْحَيَاةَ ، فَضَعْ يَدَكَ عَلَى مَتْنِ ثَوْرٍ ، فَمَا دَارَتْ يَدُكَ مِنْ شَعَرَه ، فَإِنَّكَ تَعِيشُ لَهَا سَنَةً ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ مَاذَا ؟ قَالَ : ثُمَّ الْمَوْتُ ، قَالَ : فَالْآنَ يَا رَبِّ مِنْ قَرِيبٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Angel of Death came to Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) to seize his soul and said to him, "Respond to the call of your Lord," Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) struck him with a slap and gouged out his eye. He returned to his Lord and said, "You have sent me to a servant who does not want to die." Allah restored his eye and said, "Go back to him and tell him to place his hand on the back of an ox; for every hair that comes under his hand, he will be granted one year of life." Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) asked, "O Lord, what will happen after that?" He replied, "Then death will come." He said, "Then let it be now."
Hadith 8617
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ احْتَكَرَ حُكْرَةً يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُغْلِيَ بِهَا عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، فَهُوَ خَاطِئٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever hoards goods with the intention of causing hardship to the Muslims is sinful.
Hadith 8618
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : وَأَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " الْأَبْعَدُ فَالْأَبْعَدُ أَفْضَلُ أَجْرًا عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The farther a person comes from the mosque, the greater is his reward.
Hadith 8619
حَدَّثَنَا الحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يُخْبِرُ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يُبَايَعُ لِرَجُلٍ بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ وَالْمَقَامِ ، وَلَنْ يَسْتَحِلَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ إِلَّا أَهْلُهُ ، فَإِذَا اسْتَحَلُّوهُ فَلَا تَسْأَلْ عَنْ هَلَكَةِ الْعَرَبِ ، ثُمَّ تَأْتِي الْحَبَشَةُ فَيُخَرِّبُونَهُ خَرَابًا لَا يَعْمُرُ بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا ، وَهُمْ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَخْرِجُونَ كَنْزَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man will be pledged allegiance to between the Black Stone and the Station of Ibrahim, and the sanctity of the House of Allah will be violated by its own guardians. And when people violate the sanctity of the House of Allah, then do not ask about the destruction of the Arabs. Rather, the Abyssinians will come and they will lay it to ruin in such a way that it will never be inhabited again, and these will be the people who will extract its treasure.
Hadith 8620
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ النُّعْمَانِ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَهْبٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَال : " حُرِّمَتْ الْخَمْرُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَهُمْ يَشْرَبُونَ الْخَمْرَ ، وَيَأْكُلُونَ الْمَيْسِرَ ، فَسَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْهُمَا ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ قُلْ فِيهِمَا إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ وَمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثْمُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِنْ نَفْعِهِمَا سورة البقرة آية 219 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ : مَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْنَا ، إِنَّمَا قَالَ : فِيهِمَا إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ سورة البقرة آية 219 وَكَانُوا يَشْرَبُونَ الْخَمْرَ ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمٌ مِنَ الْأَيَّامِ ، صَلَّى رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ ، أَمَّ أَصْحَابَهُ فِي الْمَغْرِب ، خَلَطَ فِي قِرَاءَتِهِ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فِيهَا آيَةً أَغْلَظَ مِنْهَا : يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُكَارَى حَتَّى تَعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ سورة النساء آية 43 ، وَكَانَ النَّاسُ يَشْرَبُونَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَحَدُهُمْ الصَّلَاةَ وَهُوَ مُفِيقٌ ، ثُمَّ أُنْزِلَتْ آيَةٌ أَغْلَظُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ : يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالأَنْصَابُ وَالأَزْلامُ رِجْسٌ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ سورة المائدة آية 90 ، فَقَالُوا : انْتَهَيْنَا رَبَّنَا ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، نَاسٌ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَوْ مَاتُوا عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ ، كَانُوا يَشْرَبُونَ الْخَمْرَ ، وَيَأْكُلُونَ الْمَيْسِر ، وَقَدْ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ رِجْسًا َمِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا إِذَا مَا اتَّقَوْا وَآمَنُوا سورة المائدة آية 93 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ لَتَرَكُوهَا كَمَا تَرَكْتُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the prohibition of alcohol occurred in three different stages. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, people used to drink alcohol and also consume gambling money. They asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about these things, so Allah revealed this verse: "They ask you about alcohol and gambling. Say: In both of them is great sin and some benefit for people." People said that in this verse, alcohol has not been declared forbidden; Allah has only said that there is great sin in them. Thus, they continued to drink alcohol. Until one day, a companion from among the Muhajireen led the people in Maghrib prayer, and (due to intoxication) he made a mistake in the recitation. Upon this, Allah revealed a stricter verse than before: "O you who believe! Do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying." People still continued to drink alcohol, but they would come for prayer only when they were in their senses. After this, in the third stage, an even stricter verse was revealed: "O you who believe! Alcohol, gambling, idols, and divining arrows are impure things and the work of Satan, so avoid them so that you may be successful." Upon the revelation of this verse, people said, "O our Lord, now we have refrained." Then some people submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Some people who were martyred in the way of Allah or died naturally, and they used to drink alcohol and consume gambling money (what will become of them) when Allah has declared these things impure and the work of Satan?" Upon this, Allah revealed this verse: "Those who believed and did righteous deeds, there is no blame upon them for what they consumed before, provided they are now mindful and believers." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If alcohol had been forbidden in their time, they too would have refrained from it just as you have (so there is no need to worry)."
Hadith 8621
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَمَضَانَ وَعَلَيْهِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ شَيْءٌ لَمْ يَقْضِهِ ، لَمْ يُتَقَبَّلْ مِنْهُ ، وَمَنْ صَامَ تَطَوُّعًا ، وَعَلَيْهِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ شَيْءٌ لَمْ يَقْضِهِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُتَقَبَّلُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى يَصُومَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever reaches the month of Ramadan and has some obligatory fasts from the previous Ramadan upon him which he has not made up, then his current fast will not be accepted. And whoever starts keeping voluntary fasts while he has some obligatory fasts of Ramadan upon him which he has not made up, then his voluntary fast will not be accepted until he completes the obligatory fasts.
Hadith 8622
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَسْتَنْثِرْ ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَبِيتُ عَلَى خَيَاشِيمِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you performs ablution, he should clean his nose thoroughly because Satan spends the night on the nostrils of his nose.
Hadith 8623
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَيَّاشُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ الْقِتْبَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي تَمِيمٍ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَلَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا الَّتِي أُقِيمَتْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After the iqamah has been pronounced, there is no prayer except the obligatory prayer of that time.
Hadith 8624
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، وقَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَال : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ بُكَيْرَ بْنَ الْأَشَجّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ خَالِدٍ الدُّؤَلِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ النَّضْرَ بْنَ سُفْيَانَ الدُّؤَلِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَلَعَاتِ الْيَمَنِ ، فَقَامَ بِلَالٌ يُنَادِي ، فَلَمَّا سَكَت ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَالَ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ هَذَا يَقِينًا ، دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in an upper region of Yemen when Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up to give the call to prayer (adhan). When he finished giving the adhan and became silent, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever says these words with the certainty of heart as Bilal has said, he will enter Paradise.
Hadith 8625
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مُنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةِ مِنْ بَعْدِ الصَّلَاة ، كَفَارِسٍ اشْتَدَّ بِهِ فَرَسُهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَلَى كَشْحِهِ ، تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ مَلَائِكَةُ اللَّهِ ، مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ أَوْ يَقُومُ ، وَهُوَ فِي الرِّبَاطِ الْأَكْبَرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person who waits for one prayer after another is like a warrior whose horse stands ready on its side in the path of Allah. For him, Allah's angels continue to pray for forgiveness as long as he does not lose his ablution or stand up from there, and this will be counted as the greatest vigilance (ribat akbar) among the most important forms of guarding.
Hadith 8626
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْمُثَنَّى بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّب ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّا نَكُونُ بِهَذَا الرَّمْلِ ، فَلَا نَجِدُ الْمَاء ، وَيَكُونُ فِينَا الْحَائِضُ وَالْجُنُبُ وَالنُّفَسَاءُ ، فَيَأْتِي عَلَيْهَا أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ لَا تَجِدُ الْمَاءَ ! قَالَ : " عَلَيْكَ بِالتُّرَابِ " ، يَعْنِي التَّيَمُّمَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I stay continuously in desert areas for four or five months. Among us are women in menstruation and postnatal bleeding, and men in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), (but) we do not find water. What is your opinion?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Make the earth obligatory upon yourselves (i.e., perform tayammum)."
Hadith 8627
حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أنه قَالَ : " وَيْلٌ لِلْأُمَرَاءِ ، وَيْلٌ لِلْعُرَفَاءِ ، وَيْلٌ لِلْأُمَنَاءِ ، لَيَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنَّ ذَوَائِبَهُمْ كَانَتْ مُعَلَّقَةً بِالثُّرَيَّا ، يَتَذَبْذَبُونَ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، وَلَمْ يَكُونُوا عَمِلُوا عَلَى شَيْءٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Destruction is for the rulers, chiefs, and government officials. On the Day of Resurrection, these people will wish that their forelocks were hanging from the star Thurayya and that they were suspended between the sky and the earth, but had not undertaken any responsibility.
Hadith 8628
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا بِتَمَرَاتٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : ادْعُ اللَّهَ لِي فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ ، قَالَ : فَصَفَّهُنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ دَعَا , فَقَالَ لِي : " اجْعَلْهُنَّ فِي مِزْوَدٍ ، فأَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ وَلَا تَنْثُرْهُ " ، قَالَ : فَحَمَلْتُ مِنْهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَسْقًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَنَأْكُلُ وَنُطْعِمُ ، وَكَانَ لَا يُفَارِقُ حَقْوِي ، فَلَمَّا قُتِلَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، انْقَطَعَ عَنْ حَقْوِي فَسَقَطَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day I brought some dates to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "Please pray for blessings in them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spread them out on his hand, prayed, and said: "Put them in your provision bag and keep taking out dates from it with your hand. Do not turn it upside down to empty it." Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I took out many wasqs from it and gave them in the way of Allah. We ourselves ate from it and fed others as well, and I never separated that bag from myself. But after the martyrdom of Hazrat Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him), it fell somewhere and was lost.
Hadith 8629
حَدَّثَنَا حُجَيْنُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى أَبُو عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يعني ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ الْمَاجِشُونِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ مِنْ تَلْبِيَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَبَّيْكَ إِلَهَ الْحَقِّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Talbiyah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was: "Labbayk Ilaaha al-Haqq."
Hadith 8630
حَدَّثَنَا حُجَيْن بن المثُنى أَبُو عُمَرَ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ أُذَيْنٍ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يُؤْمِنُ الْعَبْدُ الْإِيمَانَ كُلَّهُ ، حَتَّى يَتْرُكَ الْكَذِبَ فِي الْمُزَاحَةِ ، وَيَتْرُكَ الْمِرَاءَ وَإِنْ كَانَ صَادِقًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person cannot be a complete believer until he gives up lying even in jest, and gives up quarreling even when he is truthful.
Hadith 8631
حَدَّثَنَا حُجَيْنٌ بن المثنى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ، فَإِذَا قَالَ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ، قَالَ لَهُ أَخُوه : يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ ، فَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُ : يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ ، فَلْيَقُلْ : يَهْدِيكُمُ اللَّهُ ، وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When one of you sneezes, he should say "Alhamdulillah." His Muslim brother who hears him say "Alhamdulillah" should say to him "Yarhamukallah." Then the one who sneezed should say "Yahdikumullah wa yuslihu balakum."
Hadith 8632
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَهَى عَنْ الشُّرْبِ مِنْ فَمِ السِّقَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade drinking water directly from the mouth of a water-skin.
Hadith 8633
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ فَرُّوخَ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِي ، يَقُولُ : تَضَيَّفْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ سَبْعًا ، فَكَانَ هُوَ وَامْرَأَتُهُ وَخَادِمُهُ يَعْتَقِبُونَ اللَّيْلَ أَثْلَاثًا ، يُصَلِّي هَذَا ، ثُمَّ يُوقِظُ هَذَا ، وَيُصَلِّي هَذَا ، ثُمَّ يَرْقُدُ ، وَيُوقِظُ هَذَا ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَيْفَ تَصُومُ ؟ قَالَ : أَمَّا أَنَا ، فَأَصُومُ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الشَّهْرِ ثَلَاثًا ، فَإِنْ حَدَثَ لِي حَادِثٌ ، كَانَ آخِرُ شَهْرِي . قَالَ : قَالَ : وَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ تَمْرًا ، فَأَصَابَنِي سَبْعُ تَمَرَاتٍ ، إِحْدَاهُنَّ حَشَفَةٌ ، وَمَا فِيهِنَّ شَيْءٌ أَعْجَبُ إِلَيَّ مِنْهَا ، أَنَّهَا شَدَّتْ مَضَاغِي " .
Abu Uthman Nahdi, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I stayed as a guest with Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, for seven days. He had divided the night into three parts between himself, his wife, and his servant. First, one person would pray, then he would wake the next, and after he prayed, he would wake the third. One day I asked, "O Abu Hurairah! In what order do you fast?" He replied, "I fast three days at the beginning of the month, and if any necessity arises, then I fast at the end of the month. And I heard Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, say that once the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, distributed some dates among his companions, may Allah be pleased with them. I received seven dates, one of which was unripe. To me, it was the best among them, as I had to chew it hard (and my gums and teeth were moving)."
Hadith 8634
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَوْدَاءَ أَوْ رَجُلًا كَانَ يَقُمُّ الْمَسْجِدَ ، ففقده رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ ، فَقَالُوا : مَاتَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَا كُنْتُمْ آذَنْتُمُونِي بِهِ ! " قَالُوا : إِنَّهُ كَانَ لَيْلًا ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " دُلُّونِي عَلَى قَبْرِهِ " فَدَلُّوهُ ، فَأَتَى قَبْرَهُ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a black woman or man who used to serve the Prophet’s Mosque (by sweeping and keeping it clean). One day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not see that person. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) about him/her, and they informed him that he/she had passed away. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not inform me?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied that he/she was an ordinary person (so they did not consider it appropriate to trouble the Prophet). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Show me his/her grave." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) showed him, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the grave and prayed for his/her forgiveness.
