Hadith 8518
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّ خُطْبَةٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا شَهَادَةٌ ، كَالْيَدِ الْجَذْمَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Any sermon in which the testimony of the Oneness of Allah and the Messengership is not mentioned is like a hand afflicted with leprosy.
Hadith 8519
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يعنى أَبَانُ الْعَطَّارُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَن ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " الْمُؤْمِنُ يَغَارُ ، وَاللَّهُ يَغَارُ ، وَمِنْ غَيْرَةِ اللَّهِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُ شَيْئًا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A believer is possessive (protective of honor), and Allah is even more possessive. And a part of Allah's possessiveness is that a person should avoid those things which Allah has declared unlawful.
Hadith 8520
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " كَانَتْ شَجَرَةٌ تُؤْذِي أَهْلَ الطَّرِيقِ ، فَقَطَعَهَا رَجُلٌ فَنَحَّاهَا عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ ، فَدَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There was a tree causing inconvenience to passersby on the road. A man cut it down and removed it from the path to one side, and due to this blessed act, he was granted entry into Paradise.
Hadith 8521
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " يَدْخُلُ فُقَرَاءُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ الْجَنَّةَ قَبْلَ أَغْنِيَائِهِمْ بِنِصْفِ يَوْمٍ ، وَهُوَ خَمْسُ مِائَةِ عَامٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The poor believers will enter Paradise five hundred years before the wealthy Muslims.
Hadith 8522
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ ، اعْمَلْ كَأَنَّكَ تُرَى ، وَعُدَّ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ الْمَوْتَى ، وَإِيَّاكَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمَظْلُومِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O son of Adam, act with the thought that someone is watching you, consider yourself among the dead, and beware of the supplication of the oppressed.
Hadith 8523
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْمَسَاجِدِ يَكْتُبُونَ النَّاسَ عَلَى مَنَازِلِهِمْ جَاءَ فُلَانٌ مِنْ سَاعَةِ كَذَا ، جَاءَ فُلَانٌ مِنْ سَاعَةِ كَذَا ، جَاءَ فُلَانٌ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ ، جَاءَ فُلَانٌ فَأَدْرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ وَلَمْ يُدْرِكْ الْجُمُعَةَ ، إِذَا لَمْ يُدْرِكْ الْخُطْبَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the day of Friday, the angels stand at the doors of the mosque and record the ranks of the people, that such-and-such a person came at such-and-such a time, such-and-such a person came at such-and-such a time, such-and-such a person came when the Imam was delivering the sermon, and such-and-such a person came and only got the prayer but did not get the Friday (reward). They write this as long as someone has not missed the sermon.
Hadith 8524
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " يَدْخُلُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ مُرْدًا بِيضًا جِعَادًا ، مُكَحَّلِينَ أَبْنَاءَ ثَلَاثٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ ، عَلَى خَلْقِ آدَمَ ، سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فِي سَبْعَةِ أَذْرُع " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Paradise will enter Paradise in such a way that their bodies will be free of hair, they will be young, fair-skinned, with curly hair and eyes with kohl, they will be thirty-three years old, in the form and appearance of Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him), sixty cubits tall and seven cubits wide.
Hadith 8525
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، وَحَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فِي كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ يُقْرَأُ ، فَمَا أَسْمَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَسْمَعْنَاكُمْ ، وَمَا أَخْفَى عَلَيْنَا أَخْفَيْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that recitation is done in every prayer. However, in the prayer in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited aloud to us, we too will recite aloud to you, and in the prayer in which he recited quietly, we too will recite quietly.
Hadith 8526
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لِكُلِّ بَنِي آدَمَ حَظٌّ مِنَ الزِّنَا ، فَالْعَيْنَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ ، وَزِنَاهُمَا النَّظَرُ ، وَالْيَدَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ ، وَزِنَاهُمَا الْبَطْشُ ، وَالرِّجْلَانِ تزْنِيَانِ ، وَزِنَاهُمَا الْمَشْيُ ، وَالْفَمُ يَزْنِي ، وَزِنَاهُ الْقُبَلُ ، وَالْقَلْبُ يَهْوَى وَيَتَمَنَّى ، وَالْفَرْجُ يُصَدِّقُ ذَلِكَ أَوْ يُكَذِّبُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every human being has his share of adultery. Thus, the eyes also commit adultery, and their adultery is looking; the hands also commit adultery, and their adultery is touching; the feet also commit adultery, and their adultery is walking (towards it); the mouth also commits adultery, and its adultery is kissing; the heart desires and wishes, and the private part either confirms or denies it.
Hadith 8527
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّتْ بِهِ جَنَازَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ ، فَقَامَ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّهَا جَنَازَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ ! فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ لِلْمَوْتِ فَزَعًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Jewish funeral passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up. Someone said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), this is the funeral of a Jew." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Because there is a distress of death."
Hadith 8528
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا كَلْبٌ أَوْ جَرَسٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Angels do not accompany a caravan in which there is a dog or bells.
Hadith 8529
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُنَجِّيهِ عَمَلُهُ " قَالُوا : وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِيَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you will be saved by his deeds. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), not even you?" He replied: Not even me, unless my Lord covers me with His forgiveness and mercy.
Hadith 8530
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ فِيمَا يَرَى النَّائِمُ كَأَنَّ فِي يَدِي سِوَارَيْنِ ، فَنَفَخْتُهُمَا فَرُفِعَا فَأَوَّلْتُ أَنَّ أَحَدَهُمَا مُسَيْلِمَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once I saw in a dream that two gold bangles were placed on my hands. I blew on them and they disappeared. I interpreted this as referring to two liars, namely Aswad Ansi and Musaylimah the Liar.
Hadith 8531
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَََََََّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا بَاتَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَفِي يَدِهِ غَمَرٌ ، فَأَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ ، فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever has traces of grease on his hands and goes to sleep without washing them, and as a result something harms him, then he should blame only himself (for not washing his hands before sleeping).
Hadith 8532
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ مُخَلَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى رَجُلٍ جَامَعَ امْرَأَتَهُ فِي دُبُرِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever approaches his wife from her back passage, Allah will not look at him with mercy.
Hadith 8533
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ سُئِلَ عَنْ عِلْمٍ فَكَتَمَهُ أَلْجَمَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِلِجَامٍ مِنْ نَارٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a person is asked about some knowledge and he conceals it without reason, then on the Day of Resurrection a bridle of fire will be put in his mouth.
Hadith 8534
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الْمُحَرَّمُ ، وَأَفْضَلُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ أَوْ الْفَرْضِ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After the obligatory prayers, the most virtuous prayer is the one performed in the middle part of the night, and after the fasts of the month of Ramadan, the most virtuous fast is that of Allah’s month which you call Muharram.
Hadith 8535
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ هُرْمُزَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ ، نَادَى مُنَادٍ : يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّة ، خُلُودًا فَلَا مَوْتَ فِيهِ ، وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ ، خُلُودًا فَلَا مَوْتَ فِيهِ " ، قَالَ : وَذَكَرَ لِي خَالِدُ بْنُ يزَيْدٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ يَذْكُرُ مِثْلَهُ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، وَعُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْهُمَا : أَنَّ ذَلِكَ بَعْدَ الشَّفَاعَاتِ وَمَنْ يُخْرَجُ مِنَ النَّارِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of Hell will enter Hell, a caller will announce: O people of Paradise, you will remain in it forever, there will be no death here; and O people of Hell, you too will remain in it forever, there will be no death here.
Hadith 8536
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا عَادَ الْمُسْلِمُ أَخَاهُ أَوْ زَارَهُ ، قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : طِبْتَ وَطَابَ مَمْشَاكَ وَتَبَوَّأْتَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مَنْزِلًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a Muslim meets his Muslim brother or goes to visit a sick person, Allah Almighty says: You have succeeded, your walking was very good, and you have made your abode in Paradise.
Hadith 8537
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا أَطَاعَ الْعَبْدُ رَبَّهُ وَسَيِّدَهُ ، فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ " ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا أُعْتِقَ أَبُو رَافِعٍ بَكَى ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : مَا يُبْكِيكَ ؟ قَالَ : كَانَ لِي أَجْرَانِ ، فَذَهَبَ أَحَدُهُمَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When a slave obeys both Allah and his master, he receives double reward for every deed. The narrator says that when Abu Rafi’ was set free, he began to weep. Someone asked him the reason for his weeping, so he said: I used to receive two rewards, but now one of them has ended.
Hadith 8538
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " يَجْتَمِعُ مَلَائِكَةُ اللَّيْلِ وَمَلَائِكَةُ النَّهَارِ عِنْدَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ، فَإِذَا عَرَجَتْ مَلَائِكَةُ النَّهَارِ ، قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : لَهُمْ مِنْ أَيْنَ جِئْتُمْ ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ : جِئْنَاكَ مِنْ عِنْدِ عِبَادِكَ أَتَيْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ ، وَجِئْنَاكَ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ ، فَإِذَا عَرَجَتْ مَلَائِكَةُ اللَّيْلِ ، قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : لَهُمْ مِنْ أَيْنَ جِئْتُمْ ؟ قَالُوا : جِئْنَاكَ مِنْ عِنْدِ عِبَادٍك ، أَتَيْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ ، وَجِئْنَاكَ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The angels of the night and the angels of the day gather at the times of Fajr and Asr prayers. When the angels of the day ascend to the heavens, Allah Almighty asks them, "Where have you come from?" They say, "We have come from Your servants; when we left them, they were praying, and when we went to them, they were praying." Then when the angels of the night ascend to the heavens, Allah Almighty also asks them, "Where have you come from?" They reply, "We have come from Your servants; when we went to them, they were praying, and when we left them, they were praying."
Hadith 8539
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " الْعَيْنَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ ، وَالْيَدَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ ، وَالْفَرْجُ يُصَدِّقُ ذَلِكَ أَوْ يُكَذِّبُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Every human has a share in adultery, thus) the eyes also commit adultery, the hands also commit adultery, and the private part either confirms or denies it.
Hadith 8540
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا حَصِينٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ ذَكْوَانَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ حَدَّثَه ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، عَلِّمْنِي عَمَلًا يَعْدِلُ الْجِهَادَ ، قَالَ : " لَا أَجِدُهُ " ، قَالَ : " هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ إِذَا خَرَجَ الْمُجَاهِدُ أَنْ تَدْخُلَ مَسْجِدًا فَتَقُومَ لَا تَفْتُرُ ، وَتَصُومَ لَا تُفْطِرُ ؟ " قَالَ : لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : إِنَّ فَرَسَ الْمُجَاهِدِ يَسْتَنُّ فِي طِوَلِهِ ، فَيُكْتَبُ لَهُ حَسَنَاتٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), tell me of a deed that is equal to jihad?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I do not find any such deed. Are you able, when a mujahid goes out, to enter the mosque and remain standing in prayer without any shortcoming, and to fast continuously without breaking your fast?" He said, "I do not have the strength for that."
Hadith 8541
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي أَبُو أُمِّي أَبُو حَبِيبَةَ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ الدَّارَ وَعُثْمَانُ مَحْصُورٌ فِيهَا ، وَأَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَسْتَأْذِنُ عُثْمَانَ فِي الْكَلَامِ ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ ، فَقَامَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ ، وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَال : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " إِنَّكُمْ تَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي فِتْنَةً وَاخْتِلَافًا " ، أَوْ قَالَ " اخْتِلَافًا وَفِتْنَةً " ، فَقَالَ لَهُ قَائِلٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ : فَمَنْ لَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْأَمِينِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ " وَهُوَ يُشِيرُ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بِذَلِكَ .
Abu Habibah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that he entered the house of Hazrat Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) during the days when Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was besieged. There, Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) was seeking permission to speak with Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) granted him permission. So he stood up, and after praising and glorifying Allah, he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that after me you will face tribulations and disagreements. Someone asked, O Messenger of Allah, who will be responsible for us? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You must adhere to your leader and his companions. Saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed towards Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 8542
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لِلرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ زَوْجَتَانِ مِنْ حُورِ الْعِينِ ، عَلَى كُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ سَبْعُونَ حُلَّةً ، يُرَى مُخُّ سَاقِهَا مِنْ وَرَاءِ الثِّيَابِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every one of the people of Paradise will have two wives, each of them will have seventy garments upon her, and the marrow of their shins will be visible from outside the clothes.
Hadith 8543
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَتْبَعُ حَمَامَةً ، فَقَالَ : " شَيْطَانٌ يَتْبَعُ شَيْطَانَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man chasing a female pigeon, so he said: "A devil is chasing after a she-devil."
Hadith 8544
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَة ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ ، وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ ، ثُمَّ قَدْ حَرَّمَ عَلَيَّ دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ ، وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establish prayer, and pay zakat. After that, they will have protected their lives and property from me, and their reckoning is with Allah.
Hadith 8545
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْجُلَاسِ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ شَمَّاخٍ ، قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ مَرْوَانَ ، سَأَلَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَيْفَ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْجِنَازَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ : مَعَ الَّذِي قُلْتُ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبُّهَا ، وَأَنْتَ خَلَقْتَهَا ، وَأَنْتَ هَدَيْتَهَا لِلْإِسْلَامِ ، وَأَنْتَ قَبَضْتَ رُوحَهَا ، وَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِسِرِّهَا وَعَلَانِيَتِهَا ، جِئْنَا شُفَعَاءَ فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا " .
Uthman bin Shammakh says that once Marwan asked Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) in my presence, "Which supplication did you hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recite in the funeral prayer?" He replied: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: O Allah, You are his Lord, You created him, You guided him to Islam, and You took his soul. You know his hidden and apparent (deeds). We have come to You as intercessors for him, so forgive him.
Hadith 8546
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ " مَرَّتَيْنِ ، قَالُوا : فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ! قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلَكُمْ ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي ، فَلَا تُكَلِّفُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Protect yourselves from fasting continuously for several days with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this twice. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah, do you also fast continuously in this manner?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: In this matter, I am not like you. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself feeds and gives me drink. Therefore, do not burden yourselves with such deeds for which you do not have the strength to bear.
Hadith 8547
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُنا ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ اتَّخَذَ كَلْبًا لَيْسَ بِكَلْبِ زَرْعٍ وَلَا صَيْدٍ وَلَا مَاشِيَةٍ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ " ، قَالَ سُلَيْمٌ : وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَدْ قَالَ : " وَالْقِيرَاطُ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog for purposes other than hunting or guarding fields or herds, then every day a qirat will be deducted from his reward (and one qirat is equal to the mountain of Uhud).
Hadith 8548
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا فَرْقَدٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ أَخِي مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَكْذَبُ ، أَوْ مِنْ أَكْذَبِ النَّاسِ ، الصَّبَّاغِينَ وَالصَّوَّاغِينَ " ، وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ مَرَّةً : " إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْذَبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The greatest liars are dyers and tailors.
Hadith 8549
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ أَيُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ؟ فَقَالَ : " أَوَكُلُّكُمْ يَجِدُ ثَوْبَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Can a person pray in a single garment?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Does each one of you have two garments?"
Hadith 8550
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : وحَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، قَال : سَمِعْتُ ثَابِتًا ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ فَرْحَةٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا عِنْدَ إِفْطَارِهِ ، وَفَرْحَةٌ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The fasting person experiences two moments of joy and happiness; when he breaks his fast, he is happy, and there will be another happiness in the Hereafter.
Hadith 8551
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا عِسْلُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ التَّمِيمِيُّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَهَى عَنِ السَّدْلِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade letting the garment hang in prayer in such a way that it is not on the form of the body and there is no hindrance in it.
Hadith 8552
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا خُثَيْمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عِرَاكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ ، وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِخَيْبَرَ ، وَقَدْ اسْتَخْلَفَ سِبَاعَ بْنَ عُرْفُطَةَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، قَالَ : فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى : بْ كهيعص 65 ، وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ : وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ لِنَفْسِي : وَيْلٌ لِفُلَانٍ ، إِذَا اكْتَالَ اكْتَالَ بِالْوَافِي ، وَإِذَا كَالَ كَالَ بِالنَّاقِصِ ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا صَلَّى زَوَّدَنَا شَيْئًا حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا خَيْبَرَ ، وَقَدْ افْتَتَحَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْبَرَ ، قَالَ : فَكَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، فَأَشْرَكُونَا فِي سِهَامِهِمْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he arrived in Madinah Munawwarah with a group of his people to accept Islam, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had gone to Khaybar and had appointed Siba’ bin ‘Arfatah (may Allah be pleased with him) as his deputy over Madinah Munawwarah. He says that when I reached the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he was leading the Fajr prayer. In the first rak’ah, he recited Surah Maryam and in the second, Surah Mutaffifin. I thought to myself that such-and-such a man is ruined because when he takes from others by measure, he takes in full, but when he gives to others, he gives less. In any case, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he granted us some provisions for the journey, until we reached Khaybar. By that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had conquered Khaybar. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to the Muslims and included us in the share of the spoils of war.
Hadith 8553
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّ جَارِ الْمَقَامِ ، فَإِنَّ جَارَ الْمُسَافِرِ إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يُزَالَ زَالَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the local neighbor, for a person can separate from a traveling neighbor whenever he wishes, but not from a local and resident neighbor.
Hadith 8554
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قَوْلِهِ عزَّ وجلَََََََََِّ : فَاسْأَلْهُ مَا بَالُ النِّسْوَةِ اللَّاتِي قَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ سورة يوسف آية 50 ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَوْ كُنْتُ أَنَا ، لَأَسْرَعْتُ الْإِجَابَةَ وَمَا ابْتَغَيْتُ الْعُذْرَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the explanation of the Quranic verse regarding those women who had cut their hands: If I had stayed in prison for as long as Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) did, and then I was offered release, I would have accepted it at that very moment and would not have sought any excuse.
Hadith 8555
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ آمَنَ بِي عَشْرَةٌ مِنْ أَحْبَارِ الْيَهُودِ ، لَآمَنَ بِي كُلُّ يَهُودِيٍّ عَلَى وَجْهِ الْأَرْضِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If ten of the great Jewish scholars were to believe in me, then every Jew on the face of the earth would believe in me.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ شُرَيْحُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ : بَيْنَمَا أَنَا فِي مَسْجِدِ الْمَدِينَةِ إِذْ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا يُحِبُّ رَجُلٌ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، إِلَّا أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ ، وَلَا أَبْغَضَ رَجُلٌ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ ، إِلَّا أَبْغَضَ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ " ، فَأَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، فَقُلْتُ لَئِنْ كَانَ مَا ذَكَرَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَقًّا ، لَقَدْ هَلَكْنَا ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنَّمَا الْهَالِكُ مَنْ هَلَكَ فِيمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَمَا ذَاكَ ؟ قَالَ : قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " لَا يُحِبُّ رَجُلٌ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ ، إِلَّا أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ ، وَلَا أَبْغَضَ رَجُلٌ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ ، إِلَّا أَبْغَضَ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ " ، قَالَتْ : وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ ، فَهَلْ تَدْرِي لِمَ ذَلِكَ ؟ إِذَا حَشْرَجَ الصَّدْرُ ، وَطَمَحَ الْبَصَرُ ، وَاقْشَعَرَّ الْجِلْدُ ، وَتَشَنَّجَتْ الْأَصَابِعُ ، فَعِنْدَ ذَلِكَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ ، وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ أَبْغَضَ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ .
Shuraih bin Hani' (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I was in the Prophet's Mosque when Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever likes to meet Allah, Allah also likes to meet him, and whoever dislikes to meet Allah, Allah also dislikes to meet him. Hearing this, I went to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: If what Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) has mentioned from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is correct, then we are doomed. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Only he is doomed who is doomed according to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). What is the matter? I mentioned to her the narration I had heard from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). She said: I bear witness that I also heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this. Do you know why this is so? When hearts begin to tremble, eyes are dazzled, the skin of the body begins to shiver, and a convulsive state appears in the fingers (when the time of death approaches), at that time, whoever likes to meet Allah, Allah also likes to meet him, and whoever dislikes to meet Allah, Allah also dislikes to meet him.
Hadith 8557
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " رَغِمَ أَنْفُ ، ثمَََّ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ ، ثمَََََََََََّ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ رَجُلٍ أَدْرَكَ وَالِدَيْهِ ، أَحَدَهُمَا أَوْ كِلَاهُمَا عِنْدَهُ الْكِبَرُ ، لَمْ يُدْخِلْهُ الْجَنَّةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times: May the nose of that man be rubbed in dust whose parents, one or both, reach old age during his lifetime and he does not enter Paradise (by serving them and making them happy).
