It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Any sermon in which the testimony of the Oneness of Allah and the Messengership is not mentioned is like a hand afflicted with leprosy.

Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) granted him permission. So he stood up, and after praising and glorifying Allah, he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that after me you will face tribulations and disagreements. Someone asked, O Messenger of Allah, who will be responsible for us? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You must adhere to your leader and his companions. Saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed towards Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him).

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: In this matter, I am not like you. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself feeds and gives me drink. Therefore, do not burden yourselves with such deeds for which you do not have the strength to bear.

He says that when I reached the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he was leading the Fajr prayer. In the first rak’ah, he recited Surah Maryam and in the second, Surah Mutaffifin. I thought to myself that such-and-such a man is ruined because when he takes from others by measure, he takes in full, but when he gives to others, he gives less. In any case, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he granted us some provisions for the journey, until we reached Khaybar. By that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had conquered Khaybar. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to the Muslims and included us in the share of the spoils of war.

Shuraih bin Hani' (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I was in the Prophet's Mosque when Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever likes to meet Allah, Allah also likes to meet him, and whoever dislikes to meet Allah, Allah also dislikes to meet him. Hearing this, I went to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: If what Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) has mentioned from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is correct, then we are doomed. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Only he is doomed who is doomed according to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). What is the matter? I mentioned to her the narration I had heard from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). She said: I bear witness that I also heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this. Do you know why this is so? When hearts begin to tremble, eyes are dazzled, the skin of the body begins to shiver, and a convulsive state appears in the fingers (when the time of death approaches), at that time, whoever likes to meet Allah, Allah also likes to meet him, and whoever dislikes to meet Allah, Allah also dislikes to meet him.
