Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The worst person among you is the one who is two-faced.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the slave of any one of you commits theft, he should sell him, even if it is for a small price.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of grain before taking possession of it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you strikes someone, he should avoid striking the face.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you travel through a green and lush area, give the camels their due (and let them graze peacefully), and if you travel through a dry land, then pass quickly through that area, and when you wish to camp at night, camp away from the road.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not make your houses graveyards, for surely Satan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted in the court of the Prophet, "O Messenger of Allah! Atarid Tamimi is standing and selling a silk garment. If you were to buy a pair, then when delegations come to you, you could also wear it?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "In this world, only that person wears silk who has no share in the Hereafter."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that, by Allah! In prayer, I am the closest among all of you to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Abu Salamah says that Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite Qunoot Nazilah after saying "Sami' Allahu liman Hamidah" in the last rak'ah of the Isha and Fajr prayers, in which he would supplicate for the Muslims and invoke curses upon the disbelievers.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hasten to perform righteous deeds before six events occur: the rising of the sun from the west, the emergence of the Dajjal, the appearance of smoke, the emergence of the Beast of the earth, the death of a particular person among you, or the general death of all."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not appropriate for a truthful person or a friend to be one who curses.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man presented himself in the court of the Prophet and requested, "Fix the prices of things." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It is Allah alone who makes things expensive and cheap, and I wish to meet Allah in such a state that there is no injustice from my side upon anyone."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the women who commit unlawful acts in the graveyard.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This Uhud loves us and we love it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the slave of any one of you commits theft, he should sell him, even if it is for a small price.

Due to the scribes' error, the chain of narration and the text of the hadith have become confused. In the copy available to us, there is no hadith recorded at this number; rather, only the word "haddathana" is written.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The Dajjal will surely descend in Khuz and Kerman with seventy thousand people; their faces will be like flattened bows."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out for the two Eids, he would return by a different route.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he reports from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Allah Almighty will say on the Day of Resurrection: "Where are those who loved each other for My sake? By My Majesty, today I will grant them a place in My shade, when there is no shade except My shade."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As a person grows old, his body becomes weak, but two things in him remain youthful: the love for a long life and the abundance of wealth and property.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever acquires knowledge by which Allah's pleasure is sought, only to gain worldly goods, will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When various countries and cities begin to be conquered, people will say to their brothers, "Come, let us go and live in the lush and fertile lands," although if they knew, Madinah would have been better for them. And whoever endures the hardships and difficulties of Madinah with patience, I will bear witness and intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Before the Day of Judgment, there will come upon the people years of deception; in them, the liar will be considered truthful and the truthful will be considered a liar, the dishonest will be regarded as trustworthy and the trustworthy will be regarded as dishonest, and in those days, the "ruwaybidah" will speak. (Someone asked, "What is meant by ruwaybidah?" He replied: The foolish person will begin to speak in matters concerning the general public.)

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once I saw in a dream that two gold bangles were placed on my hands. I blew on them and they disappeared. I interpreted this as referring to two liars, namely Aswad Ansi and Musaylimah the Liar.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once sent us with an army and, mentioning the names of two men from the Quraysh, said: "If you find these two, burn them in the fire." Then, when we were about to set out with the intention of departure, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I had given the order regarding such-and-such men that they should be burned in the fire, but only Allah can punish with fire. Therefore, if you find them, kill them."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No person should make another get up from his place, rather make room for each other; Allah will make room for you.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once seven lizards were presented to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), along with dates and ghee. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "You people eat it; I refrain from it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a goat whose skin had been removed and which was afflicted with mange; its owners had thrown it away. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do you think this has become insignificant in the eyes of its owners?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Yes." He said, "The world is even more insignificant in the sight of Allah than this goat is in the eyes of its owners."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when food would come to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from somewhere other than his own house, he (peace be upon him) would inquire about it. If he was told that it was a gift, he (peace be upon him) would eat from it, and if he was told that it was charity, he would tell the people, "You eat," and he himself would not eat from it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the iqamah for prayer was being called and people began to straighten the rows. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also arrived and stood at his place. We were waiting for the takbeer of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he said, "You all stay here," and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went away. We remained standing in the same way. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, he had performed ghusl and drops of water were dripping from his head.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: In earlier times there was a man who used to lend money to people, and he would say to his young men that when you go to collect a debt from someone in difficulty, then show leniency to him, perhaps Allah will show leniency to us. So (after his death) when he met Allah, Allah showed leniency to him (forgave him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the previous nations, there used to be some people who were Muhaddath (inspired by Allah). If there is any such person in my Ummah, it is Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).

The previous hadith is also narrated mursal through this second chain.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: One day I saw myself in Paradise in a dream. There, a woman was performing ablution beside a palace. I asked, "Whose palace is this?" People replied, "It belongs to Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him)." I remembered your sense of honor and turned back. At the time when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying this, Hazrat Umar (may Allah have mercy on him) was also sitting among the people. Upon hearing this, he began to weep and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), may my parents be sacrificed for you! Would I ever feel jealous of you?"

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Paradise will see each other in Paradise just as you see a bright star at different levels, more or less. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will these people be the noble Prophets (peace be upon them)?" He replied, "No, by the One in whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), these will be those people who believed in Allah and His Messenger and affirmed the other Prophets (peace be upon them)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As a person grows old, his body becomes weak, but two things in him remain youthful: the love for a long life and the abundance of wealth and property.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah's curse be upon the woman who joins hair and the one for whom hair is joined, and upon the woman who tattoos and the one for whom tattooing is done.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger, establishes prayer, and fasts in Ramadan, it is Allah’s right to admit him into Paradise, whether he migrates in the way of Allah or remains in his birthplace. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), should we not inform the people of this?” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued his speech and said: In Paradise there are one hundred levels which Allah has prepared for those who strive in His path. The distance between two levels is as great as the distance between the earth and the sky. When you ask Allah for Paradise, ask for Jannat al-Firdous, for it is the center and the highest part of Paradise. Above it is the Throne of the Most Merciful, and from it flow the rivers of Paradise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), tell me, if someone tries to seize my wealth, what should I do?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ask him by Allah (to desist)." He asked, "If he does not accept?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then ask him by Allah again." The fourth time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then fight him. If you are killed, you will go to Paradise, and if you kill him, he will go to Hell."

The previous hadith is also narrated through this chain.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that some of the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) complained to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when they are broad (in body), it becomes difficult for them to perform prostration. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take support from your knees. The narrator of the hadith, Ibn ‘Ajlan, says that when the prostration becomes prolonged and a person becomes tired, he should place his elbows on his knees.
