Hadith 8398
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ أَرْسَلَ جِبْرِيلَ ، قَالَ : انْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا وَإِلَى مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لِأَهْلِهَا فِيهَا ، فَجَاءَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا وَإِلَى مَا أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لِأَهْلِهَا فِيهَا ، فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ ، فقَال : وَعِزَّتِكَ ، لَا يَسْمَعُ بِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا دَخَلَهَا ، فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَحُجِبَتْ بِالْمَكَارِهِ ، قَالَ : ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهَا ، فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا وَإِلَى مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لِأَهْلِهَا فِيهَا " ، قَالَ : " فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهَا ، فَإِذَا هِيَ قَدْ حُجِبَتْ بِالْمَكَارِهِ ، فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ ، فقَالَ : وَعِزَّتِكَ ، قَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَهَا أَحَد ، قَالَ : اذْهَبْ إِلَى النَّارِ ، فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا وَإِلَى مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لِأَهْلِهَا فِيهَا ، فجاءَها ، فَنَظَر إليها وإلى ما أعَّد لأهلها فيها ، فَإِذَا هِيَ يَرْكَبُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا ، فَرَجَعَ فقَالَ ، وَعِزَّتِك ، لَا يَسْمَعَ بِهَا أَحَدٌ فَيَدْخُلَهَا ، فَأَمَرَ بِهَا ، فَحُفَّتْ بِالشَّهَوَاتِ ، فر جع إليه قَالَ : وَعِزَّتِكَ ، لَقَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ لَا يَنْجُوَ مِنْهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا دَخَلَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah created Paradise and Hell, He sent a message to Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) to go and see them and also see what I have prepared in them. So Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) went and saw Paradise and the blessings prepared in it, and returned and submitted in the Divine Court: By Your honor, whoever hears about it will surely wish to enter it. By Allah’s command, it was then covered with undesirable and unpleasant things. Allah said: Now go and see it and its blessings again. So he went again; this time it was covered with unpleasant matters. He returned and submitted: By Your honor, I fear that now no one will be able to enter it. Allah said: Go and see Hell and the punishments prepared for the people of Hell. When he reached there, one part of it was overwhelming the other. He returned and said: By Your honor, no person who hears about it will wish to enter it. By Allah’s command, it was then covered with desires. This time Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) said: By Your honor, I fear that now no one will be able to escape from it.
Hadith 8399
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ بَلي حي مِنْ قُضَاعَةَ أَسْلَمَا مَعَ رسولِ الله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم ، وَاسْتُشْهِدَ أَحَدُهُمَا ، وَأُخِّرَ الْآخَرُ سَنَةً ، قَالَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ : فَأُرِيتُ الْجَنَّةَ ، فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا الْمُؤَخَّرَ مِنْهُمَا أُدْخِلَ قَبْلَ الشَّهِيدِ ، فَعَجِبْتُ لِذَلِكَ ، فَأَصْبَحْتُ ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ للنبي اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ ذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَيْسَ قَدْ صَامَ بَعْدَهُ رَمَضَانَ وَصَلَّى سِتَّةَ آلَافِ رَكْعَةٍ أَوْ كَذَا وَكَذَا رَكْعَةً صَلَاةَ السَّنَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that two men from the tribe of Quda'ah, from the family of "Bali", embraced faith in the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). One of them was martyred while fighting in jihad with the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the other lived for one more year after him. Hazrat Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) says that he saw in a dream that the one who died a natural death entered Paradise a little before his companion. Hazrat Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Did he not offer six thousand rak'ahs, and did he not fast in the month of Ramadan, and did he not perform so many Sunnah acts?
Hadith 8400
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ : أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ وَهُمْ حَيٌّ مِنْ قُضَاعَةَ ، فَذَكَرَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 8401
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَزْرَقِ ، قَالَ : تُوُفِّيَ بَعْضُ كَنَائِنِ مَرْوَانَ ، فَشَهِدَهَا النَّاسُ وَشَهِدَهَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَمَعَهَا نِسَاءٌ يَبْكِينَ ، فَأَمَرَهُنَّ مَرْوَانُ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : دَعْهُنَّ ، فَإِنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَنَازَةٌ مَعَهَا بَوَاكٍ فَنَهَرَهُنَّ عُمَرُ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَعْهُنَّ فَإِنَّ النَّفْسَ مُصَابَةٌ ، وَالْعَيْنَ دَامِعَةٌ ، وَالْعَهْدَ حَدِيثٌ " .
Amr bin Azraq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a woman from the family of Marwan passed away. People came for the funeral, and Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) also arrived. There were women weeping with the funeral. Marwan was about to order them to be quiet when Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) stopped him and said that once a funeral passed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) with some women weeping with it. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), may Allah have mercy on him, scolded them, but the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Leave them, for the heart is afflicted, the eyes are shedding tears, and the wound is still fresh."
Hadith 8402
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَال : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ : وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ سورة الشعراء آية 214 ، جَعَلَ يَدْعُو بُطُونَ قُرَيْشٍ بَطْنًا بَطْنًا " يَا بَنِي فُلَانٍ ، أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّار " حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى فَاطِمَةَ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا فَاطِمَةُ ابْنَةَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، أَنْقِذِي نَفْسَكِ مِنَ النَّارِ ، لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ لَكُمْ رَحِمًا سَأَبُلُّهَا بِبَلَالِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the command was revealed to warn your close relatives, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called each clan of the Quraysh one by one and said, "O Banu so-and-so, save yourselves from the fire of Hell," until he reached Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), and he said to her as well, "Fatimah, save yourself from the fire of Hell. I do not possess anything for you. However, I will continue to maintain the ties of kinship that exist between us."
Hadith 8403
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَيَّانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ لِبِلَالٍ عِنْدَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ " يَا بِلَالُ ، خَبِّرْنِي بِأَرْجَى عَمَلٍ عَمِلْتَهُ مَنْفَعَةً فِي الْإِسْلَامِ ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ سَمِعْتُ اللَّيْلَةَ خَشْفَ نَعْلَيْكَ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " قَالَ : مَا عَمِلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ عَمَلًا أَرْجَى عِنْدِي مَنْفَعَةً مِنْ أَنِّي لَمْ أَتَطَهَّرْ طُهُورًا تَامًّا قَطُّ فِي سَاعَةٍ مِنْ لَيْلٍ أَوْ نَهَارٍ ، إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ بِذَلِكَ الطُّهُورِ لِرَبِّي مَا كُتِبَ لِي أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) at the time of Fajr prayer, "Bilal, tell me about an act of yours in Islam for which you have the greatest hope of reward?" Because I heard the sound of your footsteps ahead of me in Paradise last night." He replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I have not done any act in Islam for which I have greater hope of reward than this: whenever I performed ablution at any time of the day or night, I offered as much prayer with that ablution as Allah enabled me to."
Hadith 8404
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ يَعْنِي النَّوْفَلِيَّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ذَكَرَهُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَفْضَى بِيَدِهِ إِلَى ذَكَرِهِ لَيْسَ دُونَهُ سِتْرٌ ، فَقَدْ وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ الْوُضُوء " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever puts his hand towards his private part and there is no cloth in between, then his ablution becomes obligatory again.
Hadith 8405
حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 8406
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " أَكْثِرُوا مِنْ قَوْلِ : لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ، فَإِنَّهَا كَنْزٌ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Recite "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" in abundance, for it is one of the important treasures of Paradise.
Hadith 8407
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، وَكَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ : ابْنُ نُفَيْلَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " ثَمَنُ الْجَرِيسَةِ حَرَامٌ ، وَأَكْلُهَا حَرَامٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The price of a stolen goat is forbidden, and eating it is also forbidden.
Hadith 8408
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : وَأُرَاهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ يَرْفَعُونَ أَبْصَارَهُمْ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، أَوْ لَتُخْطَفَنَّ أَبْصَارُهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: People should refrain from raising their eyes towards the sky during prayer, otherwise their eyesight will be taken away.
Hadith 8409
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " أَلَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَأْخُذُ بِمَا فَرَضَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ كَلِمَةً ، أَوْ كَلِمَتَيْنِ ، أَوْ ثَلَاثًا ، أَوْ أَرْبَعًا ، أَوْ خَمْسًا ، فَيَجْعَلُهُنَّ فِي طَرَفِ رِدَائِهِ ، فَيَتَعَلَّمُهُنَّ وَيُعَلِّمُهُنَّ ؟ " قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : فَقُلْتُ : أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " فَابْسُطْ ثَوْبَكَ " ، قَالَ : فَبَسَطْتُ ثَوْبِي ، فَحَدَّثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " ضُمَّ إِلَيْكَ " ، فَضَمَمْتُ ثَوْبِي إِلَى صَدْرِي ، فَإِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ لَا أَكُونَ نَسِيتُ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ بَعْدُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Is there any man who will acquire one word or two, three, four, or five words that have been made obligatory by Allah and His Messenger, place them in the corner of his sheet, learn them, and teach them to others? I presented myself. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then spread your cloth. So I spread my cloth. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated the hadith and said: Attach it to your body. I pressed it to my chest. Because of this, I hope that after this, I have never forgotten any hadith that I heard from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 8410
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ضِرْسُ الْكَافِرِ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ ، وَفَخِذُهُ مِثْلُ الْبَيْضَاءِ ، وَمَقْعَدُهُ مِنَ النَّارِ كَمَا بَيْنَ قُدَيْدٍ وَمَكَّةَ ، وَكَثَافَةُ جِلْدِهِ اثْنَانِ وَأَرْبَعُونَ ذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعِ الْجَبَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, the molar tooth of a disbeliever will be as large as the Uhud mountain, and the width of his skin will be seventy cubits, and his thigh and upper arm will be as large as mountains, and his sitting place in Hell will be as much as the distance between Qadeed and Makkah, and the thickness of his skin, according to the measure of Jabbar, will be forty-two cubits.
Hadith 8411
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ رُضْوَانِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يُلْقِي لَهَا بَالًا يَرْفَعُهُ اللَّهُ بِهَا دَرَجَاتٍ ، وَإِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ سَخَطِ اللَّهِ لَا يُلْقِي لَهَا بَالًا يَهْوِي بِهَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sometimes a person utters a word that pleases Allah, and he does not consider it to be of any significance, but as a result of that one word, Allah raises his ranks on the Day of Judgment. And sometimes a person utters a word that displeases Allah, and he does not care about it, but as a result of that one word, he will keep falling into Hell on the Day of Judgment.
Hadith 8412
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ كَشَاكِشٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدًا الْمَقْبُرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " خَيْرُ الْكَسْبِ ، كَسْبُ يَدِ الْعَامِلِ إِذَا نَصَحَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best earning is that which a laborer earns with his own hands, provided he works with sincerity.
Hadith 8413
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُجْمِرِ ، أَنَّهُ رَقِيَ إِلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْمَسْجِدِ وَهُوَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ، فَرَفَعَ فِي عَضُدَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيَّ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ هُمْ الْغُرُّ الْمُحَجَّلُونَ مِنْ آثَارِ الْوُضُوءِ " فَمَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يُطِيلَ غُرَّتَهُ فَلْيَفْعَلْ ، فَقَالَ نُعَيْمٌ : لَا أَدْرِي قَوْلُهُ : " فمَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ يُطِيلَ غُرَّتَهُ فَلْيَفْعَلْ " مِنْ قَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ مِنْ قَوْلِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؟ ! .
Nuaim bin Abdullah once climbed onto the roof of the mosque and reached Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was performing ablution. He had washed his arms above the elbows. Then he turned towards me and said, "I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: On the Day of Resurrection, the people of my Ummah will have radiant and shining foreheads from the marks of ablution. (Therefore, whoever among you can increase his brightness should do so.)"
Hadith 8414
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أتَدْرُونَ مَنْ الْمُفْلِسُ ؟ " قَالُوا : الْمُفْلِسُ فِينَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ لَا لَهُ دِرْهَمَ وَلَا دِينَارَ وَلَا مَتَاعَ ، قَالَ : " الْمُفْلِسُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ يَأْتِي بِصَلَاةٍ وَصِيَامٍ وَزَكَاةٍ ، وَيَأْتِي قَدْ شَتَمَ عِرْضَ هَذَا ، وَقَذَفَ هَذَا ، وَأَكَلَ مَالَ هَذا ، وَضَرَبَ هَذَا ، فَيُقْعَدُ ، فَيَقْتَصُّ هَذَا مِنْ حَسَنَاتِهِ ، وَهَذَا مِنْ حَسَنَاتِهِ ، فَإِنْ فَنِيَتْ حَسَنَاتُهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْضَى مَا عَلَيْهِ ، أُخِذَ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُمْ فَطُرِحَ عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ طُرِحَ فِي النَّارِ " ، وقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ : " فَيَقْتَصُّ " ، وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ " قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْضَى مَا عَلَيْه " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know who is the bankrupt?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), among us the bankrupt is the one who has neither any money nor goods." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The bankrupt of my Ummah will be the person who will come on the Day of Judgment with prayers, fasting, and zakat, but he will have abused someone, slandered someone, unlawfully consumed someone's wealth. He will be made to sit, and each of them will be given from his good deeds as compensation. If his good deeds are exhausted before the judgment of his sins is completed, then the sins of the claimants will be placed upon him, and then he will be thrown into Hell."
Hadith 8415
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْعُقُوبَةِ مَا طَمِعَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ ، وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْكَافِرُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ مَا قَنَطَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ ، خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ ، فَوَضَعَ رَحْمَةً وَاحِدَةً بَيْنَ خَلْقِهِ يَتَرَاحَمُونَ بِهَا ، وَعِنْدَ اللَّهِ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ رَحْمَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a believing servant were to know the punishments that Allah has prepared, then no one would desire Paradise (they would only keep praying to be saved from Hell). And if a disbeliever were to realize the extent of Allah’s mercy, then no one would despair of Paradise. Allah has created one hundred mercies; He has placed one mercy in the hearts of His servants, by which they show mercy to one another, and the remaining ninety-nine mercies are with Allah.
Hadith 8416
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ أَسِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَسِيدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ مَوْلَى عَقِيلَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْقٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُطَوِّقَ حَبِيبَهُ طَوْقًا مِنْ نَارٍ ، فَلْيُطَوِّقْهُ طَوْقًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُسَوِّرَ حَبِيبَهُ سِوَارًا مِنْ نَارٍ ، فَلْيُسَوِّرْهُ بِسِوَارٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُحَلِّقَ حَبِيبَهُ حَلْقَةً مِنْ نَارٍ ، فَلْيُحَلِّقْهُ حَلْقَةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَلَكِنْ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْفِضَّةِ ، الْعَبُوا بِهَا لَعِبًا ، الْعَبُوا بِهَا لَعِبًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever wishes to make his friend wear a collar of the fire of Hell, let him make him wear a necklace of gold; and whoever wishes to make him wear bracelets of fire, let him make him wear bracelets of gold; and whoever wishes to make him wear a ring of fire, let him make him wear a ring of gold. However, use silver and take delight in it (he said this sentence twice).
Hadith 8417
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ وَرْدَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَال : " الْمَرْءُ عَلَى دِينِ خَلِيلِهِ ، فَلْيَنْظُرْ أَحَدُكُمْ مَنْ يُخَالِلْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person is on the religion of his friend, so you should consider carefully whom you take as your friend.
Hadith 8418
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، وَسُرَيْجٌ , قَالَا : ثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ " مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلَّا وَأَنَا أَوْلَى بِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ، اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ : النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ سورة الأحزاب آية 6 فَأَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ هَلَكَ وَتَرَكَ مَالًا ، فَلْيَرِثْهُ عَصَبَتُهُ مَنْ كَانُوا ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَلْيَأْتِنِي ، فَإِنِّي مَوْلَاهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have more right over the believers than their own selves in this world and the Hereafter. If you wish, recite this verse: "The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves." Therefore, whoever leaves behind a debt, its payment is my responsibility, and whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his heirs, whoever they may be.
Hadith 8419
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ، وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ ، وَصَامَ رَمَضَانَ ، فَإِنَّ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّة ، هَاجَرَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ جَلَسَ فِي أَرْضِهِ الَّتِي وُلِدَ فِيهَا " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَفَلَا نُخْبِرُ النَّاسَ ؟ قَالَ : " إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِائَةَ دَرَجَةٍ أَعَدَّهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِلْمُجَاهِدِينَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ ، بَيْنَ كُلِّ دَرَجَتَيْنِ كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، فَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمْ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَسَلُوهُ الْفِرْدَوْسَ ، فَإِنَّهُ وَسَطُ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَأَعْلَى الْجَنَّةِ ، وَفَوْقَهُ عَرْشِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَمِنْهُ تَفَجَّرُ أَوْ تَنْفَجِرُ أَنْهَارُ الْجَنَّةِ " شَكَّ أَبُو عَامِرٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger, establishes prayer, and fasts in Ramadan, it is Allah’s right to admit him into Paradise, whether he migrates in the way of Allah or remains in his birthplace. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, “O Messenger of Allah, should we not inform the people of this?” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued his speech and said: In Paradise there are one hundred levels which Allah has prepared for those who strive in His path. The distance between two levels is as great as the distance between the earth and the sky. When you ask Allah for Paradise, ask for Jannat-ul-Firdous, for it is the center and the highest part of Paradise. Above it is the Throne of the Most Merciful, and from it flow the rivers of Paradise. The previous hadith is narrated through this second chain.
Hadith 8420
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَوْ ابْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ , قَالَ : فُلَيْح : وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " تَفَجَّرُ أَنْهَارُ الْجَنَّةِ " ، وَقَالَ : أَفَلَا نُنَبِّئُ النَّاسَ بِذَلِكَ ؟ قَال : ثُمَّ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ فَلَمْ يَشُكَّ يَعْنِي فُلَيْحًا ، قالَ : عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ .
Yunus narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Hilal ibn Ali, from Ata ibn Yasar or Ibn Abi Amrah, he said: Fulayh said: And I do not know it except from Ibn Abi Amrah, then he mentioned the hadith, except that he said: "The rivers of Paradise gush forth," and he said: "Shall we not inform the people of that?" He said: Then he narrated it to us, and he did not doubt, meaning Fulayh. He said: Ata ibn Yasar.
Hadith 8421
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَذَكَرَهُ ، وَقَالَ : " وَفَوْقَهُ عَرْشُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَمِنْهُ تَنْفَجِرُ أَنْهَارُ الْجَنَّةِ " .
The previous hadith is narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 8422
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الشَّيْخُ يَكْبَرُ وَيَضْعُفُ جِسْمُهُ ، وَقَلْبُهُ شَابٌّ عَلَى حُبِّ اثْنَيْنِ طُولِ الْعُمُرِ ، وَالْمَالِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As a person grows old, his body becomes weak, but two things in him remain youthful: the love for a long life and the abundance of wealth and property.
Hadith 8423
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، وَسُرَيْجٌ , قَالَا : ثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ لَيَتَزَاوَرُونَ فِيهَا " ، قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ : " لَيَتَرَاءَوْنَ فِيهَا كَمَا تَرَاءَوْنَ الْكَوْكَب الدََََََََََُرّيَّ ، والكَوكبَ الشَّرْقِيَّ ، وَالْكَوْكَبَ الْغَرْبِيَّ الْغَارِبَ فِي الْأُفُقِ الطَّالِعَ ، فِي تَفَاضُلِ الدَّرَجَاتِ " ، قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّه ، أُولَئِكَ النَّبِيُّونَ ؟ قَالَ : " بَلَى وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، أَقْوَامٌ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَصَدَّقُوا الْمُرْسَلِينَ " . وَقَالَ سُرَيْج : " وأَقْوَامٌ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Paradise will see each other in Paradise just as you see a bright star in the east and a star in the west at different levels, more or less. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will these people be the prophets (peace be upon them)?" He replied, "No, by Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), these will be the people who believed in Allah and His Messenger and affirmed the other prophets (peace be upon them)."
Hadith 8424
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أن النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَا يُصِيبُ الْمَرْءَ الْمُسْلِمَ مِنْ نَصَبٍ ، وَلَا وَصَبٍ ، وَلَا هَمٍّ ، وَلَا حُزْنٍ ، وَلَا غَمٍّ ، وَلَا أَذًى ، حَتَّى الشَّوْكَةَ يُشَاكُهَا ، إِلَّا كَفَّرَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِهَا مِنْ خَطَايَاهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whatever worry, hardship, sorrow, grief, or pain afflicts a Muslim, even if a thorn pricks him, Allah expiates his sins in return for it.
Hadith 8425
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ ثَلَاثُ بَنَاتٍ ، فَصَبَرَ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهِنَّ وَضَرَّائِهِنَّ وَسَرَّائِهِنَّ ، أَدْخَلَهُ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ إِيَّاهُنَّ " ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : أَوْ ثِنْتَانِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَوْ ثِنْتَانِ " ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ " أَوْ وَاحِدَةٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَوْ وَاحِدَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has three daughters and he remains patient and grateful in their hardships, difficulties, and happiness, Allah, due to his kindness towards these daughters, will admit him to Paradise by His grace. Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what if there are two daughters?" He replied, "The same ruling applies." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what if there is one daughter?" He replied, "The same ruling applies."
Hadith 8426
حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَلْجٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : قَالَ لِي نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ كَنْزٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ ؟ " قَالَ : قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي . قَالَ : " أَنْ تَقُولَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَلْجٍ : وَأَحْسَبُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ , يَقُول : أَسْلَمَ عَبْدِي وَاسْتَسْلَمَ " . قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : لِعَمْرٍو ! قَالَ أَبُو بَلْجٍ : قَالَ عَمْرٌو قُلْتُ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ؟ فَقَالَ : لَا ، إِنَّهَا فِي سُورَةِ الْكَهْفِ وَلَوْلا إِذْ دَخَلْتَ جَنَّتَكَ قُلْتَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ لا قُوَّةَ إِلا بِاللَّهِ سورة الكهف آية 39 .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "O Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), shall I not teach you a word which is a treasure of Paradise and has come from beneath the Throne?" I said, "Certainly, may my parents be sacrificed for you." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Say: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah." Upon hearing this, Allah says, "My servant has submitted and entrusted himself."
Hadith 8427
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ يَبِيعُ الْخَمْرَ فِي سَفِينَةٍ ، وَكَانَ يَشُوبُهُ بِالْمَاءِ ، وَكَانَ مَعَهُ فِي السَّفِينَةِ قِرْدٌ ، قَالَ : فَأَخَذَ الْكِيسَ وَفِيهِ الدَّنَانِيرُ ، قَالَ : فَصَعِدَ الذَّرْوَ يَعْنِي الدَّقَلَ فَفَتَحَ الْكِيسَ ، فَجَعَلَ يُلْقِي فِي الْبَحْرِ دِينَارًا وَفِي السَّفِينَةِ دِينَارًا ، حَتَّى لَمْ يَبْقَ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man boarded a boat with wine for trade. There was also a monkey with him. The monkey grabbed his purse of money and climbed up a tree. The monkey started throwing one dinar into the sea and another into his master's boat, until he had divided them equally. (From here the famous saying originated: "The milk became milk and the water became water," meaning everything was separated and clarified.)
Hadith 8428
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " خَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ الْمُقَدَّمُ ، وَشَرُّهَا الْمُؤَخَّرُ ، وَشَرُّ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ الْمُقَدَّمُ ، وَخَيْرُهَا الْمُؤَخَّرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The first row among the rows of men is the best, and the last row is the closest to evil; and among the rows of women, the last row is the best, and the first row is the closest to evil.
Hadith 8429
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَة : أَهَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِكُمْ ؟ قَالَ : " وَمَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنْ صَلَاتِي ؟ " قَالَ : قُلْتُ : أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ . قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، وَأَوْجَزُ . قَالَ : " وَكَانَ قِيَامُهُ قَدْرَ مَا يَنْزِلُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ مِنَ الْمَنَارَةِ وَيَصِلُ إِلَى الصَّفِّ " .
Abu Khalid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I asked Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also use to lead you in prayer in the same manner as you lead us?" Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "What do you find unusual or strange in my prayer?" I said, "This is what I wanted to ask you about." He said, "Yes, rather even shorter than this." The narrator says that the standing (qiyam) of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to be only as long as it would take for the muezzin to descend from the minaret and reach the row.
Hadith 8430
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَخْرُجُ عُنُقٌ مِنَ النَّارِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَهُ عَيْنَانِ يُبْصِرُ بِهِمَا ، وَأُذُنَانِ يَسْمَعُ بِهِمَا ، وَلِسَانٌ يَنْطِقُ بِهِ ، فَيَقُولُ : إِنِّي وُكِّلْتُ بِثَلَاثَةٍ : بِكُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ ، وَبِكُلِّ مَنْ ادَّعَى مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ ، وَالْمُصَوِّرِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, a skull will emerge from Hell which will have two eyes with which it will see, two ears with which it will hear, and a tongue with which it will speak. It will say: I have been set over three types of people—every rebellious oppressor, those who associate others with Allah, and those who make images.
Hadith 8431
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " كَيْفَ بِكُمْ إِذَا نَزَلَ فِيكُمْ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَإِمَامُكُمْ مِنْكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What will be your condition when Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him) descends among you and your leader will be one from among yourselves?
Hadith 8432
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا وَاللَّهِ لَا يُؤْمِنُ ، لَا وَاللَّهِ لَا يُؤْمِنُ ، لَا وَاللَّهِ لَا يُؤْمِنُ " قَالُوا : وَمَنْ ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " جَارٌ لَا يَأْمَنُ جَارُهُ بَوَائِقَهُ " قِيلَ : وَمَا بَوَائِقُهُ ؟ قَالَ : " شَرُّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times, "By Allah, that person is not a believer." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who?" He said, "The neighbor whose neighbor is not safe from his harms." Someone asked about the meaning of "harms," so he said, "Evil."
Hadith 8433
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَأْخُذَ أُمَّتِي أَخْذَ الْأُمَمِ قَبْلَهَا ، شِبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ ، وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ " فقَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَمَا فَعَلَتْ فَارِسُ والرُّومُ ؟ قَالَ : " وَمَا النَّاسُ إِلَّا أُولَئِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The Day of Judgment will not be established until my Ummah indulges in the deeds of the previous nations, span by span and cubit by cubit. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah, like the people of Persia and Rome did? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Then who else besides them were among the previous people?
Hadith 8434
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنِا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَى أَعْرَابِيٌّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَرْنَبٍ قَدْ شَوَاهَا وَمَعَهَا صِنَابُهَا وَأَدَمُهَا ، فَوَضَعَهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَأَمْسَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ ، وَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يَأْكُلُوا ، فَأَمْسَكَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ ؟ " قَالَ : إِنِّي أَصُومُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ . قَالَ : " إِنْ كُنْتَ صَائِمًا ، فَصُمْ الْأَيَّامَ الْغُرَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin man brought a roasted rabbit to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), along with chutney and curry. He placed all these things before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) withheld his hand and did not eat anything from it, and ordered the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to eat. The Bedouin also withheld his hand. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Why are you not eating?" He said, "I fast three days every month." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you want to fast, then fast on the white days (Ayyam al-Beed)."
Hadith 8435
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْعَامُ الَّذِي قُبِضَ فِيهِ ، اعْتَكَفَ عِشْرِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to observe i'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan, and in the year in which he passed away, he observed i'tikaf for twenty days.
Hadith 8436
حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِطَعَامٍ بِمَرِّ الظَّهْرَانِ ، فَقَالَ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرَ : " ادْنُوَا فَكُلَا " ، قَالَا : إِنَّا صَائِمَانِ . قَالَ : " ارْحَلُوا لِصَاحِبَيْكُمْ ، اعْمَلُوا لِصَاحِبَيْكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that food was presented to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at a place called Marr az-Zahran. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) and Farooq Azam (may Allah be pleased with him), "Come, eat food." Both of them submitted, "We are fasting." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then said to the other companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Prepare mounts for your two companions, work for your companions."
Hadith 8437
حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ طَارِقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَسْرَعُ قَبَائِلِ الْعَرَبِ فَنَاءً قُرَيْشٌ ، وَيُوشِكُ أَنْ تَمُرَّ الْمَرْأَةُ بِالنَّعْلِ ، فَتَقُولَ : إِنَّ هَذَا نَعْلُ قُرَشِيٍّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the Arab tribes, the tribe of Quraysh will perish the soonest. Soon a woman will pass by carrying a sandal and will say, "This is the sandal of a Qurayshi."
