Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Seek refuge with Allah from the decade of seventy and the rule of children.

And he said: The world will not perish until the reins of government fall into the hands of a vile son of a vile man.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that someone asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Do you also feel a sense of honor (ghayrah)?" He replied, "By Allah, I am the one who feels the most honor, and Allah is more honorable than me, and for this reason, He has forbidden indecent acts."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The world will not perish until the reins of government fall into the hands of a vile son of a vile man.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those who possess abundant wealth and riches will be disgraced, except for those who distribute it with both hands, to their right, left, and in front of them."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In Paradise, the care of the Muslim children is undertaken by Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a Muslim meets his Muslim brother or goes to visit a sick person, Allah Almighty says: You have succeeded and you have made your abode in Paradise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Abdullah bin Huzafah Sahmi (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up to pray and began reciting in a loud voice. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Ibn Huzafah! Do not make me hear, make your Lord hear."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once went out for the prayer of Istisqa (prayer for rain), and without adhan or iqamah, he led us in two rak'ahs. Then he delivered a sermon and kept supplicating to Allah, and he turned his face towards the Qiblah, raised his hands, and after a short while, he turned his cloak around, placing the right side on his left shoulder and the left side on his right shoulder.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We are more deserving of doubt than Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him), because he had said: "O my Lord, show me how You give life to the dead." Allah said: "Do you not believe?" He replied: "Yes, but I wish to satisfy my heart."

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: May Allah’s mercy descend upon Prophet Lot (peace be upon him), he was seeking the protection of a strong pillar. And if I had remained in prison for as long as Prophet Joseph (peace be upon him) did, I would have accepted the offer of the one who came.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you will enter Paradise or be saved from Hell by virtue of his deeds alone. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" He replied, "Not even me, unless my Lord covers me with His forgiveness and mercy." After saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his blessed hand.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Most of the punishment of the grave is due to not protecting oneself from the splashes of urine.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would often recite Surah Al-Buruj and Surah At-Tariq in the Isha prayer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to instruct the recitation of the surahs beginning with the word "Samaa" in the Isha prayer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah has disliked three things for you and liked three things for you. He has liked that you worship Him alone and do not associate anyone with Him, that you hold firmly to the rope of Allah, and that you remain well-wishers of your rulers. And He has disliked that there be excessive talk and argument, that wealth be wasted, and that too many questions be asked.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade drinking water while standing, drinking water by putting the mouth to a waterskin, and forbade a neighbor from preventing his neighbor from placing wood on his wall.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the delegation of Banu Abdul Qais came, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Every person is accountable for his own self, and every nation may prepare nabidh in those vessels which they find suitable.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Angels do not accompany a caravan in which there is a dog or bells.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Both sons of As ibn Wa'il (Hisham and Amr) are believers.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you strikes someone, he should avoid striking the face.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, you will certainly follow the practices of the previous nations, span by span and cubit by cubit, so much so that if they entered the hole of a lizard, you would also enter it. The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who are they? The People of the Book?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Who else?"

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took my hand and said: Allah created the soil on Saturday, the mountains on Sunday, the trees on Monday, the disliked things on Tuesday, the light on Wednesday, and on Thursday He spread the living beings in it. On Friday, after the Asr prayer, He created Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him). This was the last creation, which came into existence in the last hours of Friday, between Asr and night.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit the house of an Ansari. There was another house behind theirs. This was burdensome for those people and they said, "O Messenger of Allah! You visit so-and-so's house but do not visit our house?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The reason is that there is a dog in your house." They said, "But there is a cat in those people's house as well." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "A cat is (such) a beast (that does not prevent the angels of mercy from entering)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times: No disease is contagious. A Bedouin said, "Then what about the camels who run around in the desert like deer, and suddenly a mangy camel joins them and makes all of them mangy?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent for a while and then asked him, "Where did the first camel get the mange from?" No disease is contagious, the month of Safar is not unlucky, and there is no reality to a worm coming out of the skull. Allah has created every human being, and his life, death, calamity, and sustenance have all been written.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man presented this question in the court of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "Who among the people is most deserving of my good companionship?" He replied, "Your mother." He asked, "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother." He asked, "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother." He asked, "Then who?" He replied, "Your father."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, the molar tooth of a disbeliever will be as large as Mount Uhud, and the thickness of his skin will be seventy cubits, and his thigh and upper arm will be as large as a mountain, and the place where he sits in Hell will be as far as the distance between me and Rahzah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that in a gathering of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), two men sneezed. One of them was more honorable than the other, but after sneezing, he did not say "Alhamdulillah," so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not respond to him. The other man said "Alhamdulillah," so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) responded to him. That man said, "I sneezed, but you did not respond to me, and he sneezed and you responded to him?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He remembered Allah, so I remembered him, and you forgot Him, so I forgot you."

Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) once narrated a hadith to Marwan bin Hakam, saying: I heard this hadith from Abul Qasim, who was truthful and confirmed (peace and blessings be upon him), that the destruction of my Ummah will be at the hands of a few foolish youths of the Quraysh.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! Allah is pure and accepts only that which is pure, and He has commanded the general Muslims with the same command that He gave to the prophets. Thus, it is stated: O Messengers! Eat of the pure things and do righteous deeds; surely I am aware of what you do. And He said: O you who believe! Eat of the pure things We have provided for you. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned a man who, after a long journey, comes with disheveled hair, covered in dust, raising his hands towards the sky and saying, "O Lord, O Lord," while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful, and he is nourished with unlawful things—so how can his supplication be accepted?

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The superiority of prayer offered in congregation over prayer offered alone is twenty-seven degrees.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among the Muslims makes the mosque his home, and his only purpose is to remember Allah and to perform prayers, then Allah Almighty is as pleased with him as the family of a traveler is pleased when he returns home.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man will be pledged allegiance to between the Black Stone and the Station of Ibrahim, and the guardians of the Sacred House will violate its sanctity. When people violate the sanctity of the Sacred House, then do not ask about the destruction of the Arabs. Rather, the Abyssinians will come and they will destroy it in such a way that it will never be inhabited again, and these will be the people who will extract its treasure.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when describing the appearance of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he used to say: The hands of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were full, the eyelashes of his eyes were long and thick, and there was a distance between his two shoulders. He (peace and blessings be upon him) would turn his attention completely and would turn his face fully. May my parents be sacrificed for him. He was neither foul-mouthed nor would he pretend to be immodest, nor did he wander around the markets making noise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the prayer of a slave is accounted for and there is some deficiency in it, he will be asked, "Why did you fall short in it?" He will say, "O Lord, You had placed a master over me who kept me from prayer." Allah will say, "I saw you stealing from his wealth for yourself, so could you not have stolen some of his time for your own prayer?" In this way, the argument will be completed against him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Charity is obligatory on every joint of a person in the morning. This seemed very difficult to the Muslims. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Greeting Allah’s servants with peace is also charity, removing something harmful from the path is also charity, enjoining good and forbidding evil is also charity. He mentioned some other things as well, which I do not remember.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: In this world, only that person wears silk who does not hope to wear it in the Hereafter, and in this world, only that person wears silk who has no share in the Hereafter.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), probably as a marfu' hadith, that the eye also commits adultery and the heart also; the adultery of the eyes is looking (at what is forbidden), and the adultery of the heart is wishing and desiring, while the private part either confirms or denies it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that my beloved friend Abul Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me regarding three things which I will not leave until my death: (1) to fast three days every month, (2) to perform Witr prayer before sleeping, (3) to take a bath on Friday.
