Hadith 8239
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Once I was sleeping and in a dream I saw that I was drawing water from my cistern and giving people water to drink. Then Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me and, to give me relief, took the bucket from my hand and drew two buckets, but there were some signs of weakness in it. Then Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me—may Allah forgive him—he took the bucket, and after him, no one else had the chance to draw water, until the people had drunk their fill and left, and the water was still gushing from the cistern.

And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade two types of transactions and two types of clothing. As for clothing, it is that a person sits in a single garment with it wrapped tightly around him, and there is not even a little cloth covering his private parts, and that a person wraps himself in his lower garment while praying, unless he places its two ends over his shoulders in opposite directions. And he forbade the sale of mulamasah and najsh. Benefit: The meaning of the sale of mulamasah is that the buyer says, "Whatever item I touch with my hand becomes mine for such-and-such amount," and najsh refers to deception.

Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that in terms of prayer, I am the most similar to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) among you all. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah," he would say "Rabbana wa lakal hamd." Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By Allah, every believer whom Allah creates and who hears about me or sees me, begins to love me. The narrator asked: O Abu Hurairah, how did you come to know this? He replied: Actually, my mother was a polytheist woman. I used to invite her to Islam, but she always refused. One day, I invited her, and I had to hear something about the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) from her that I disliked. Crying, I went to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I used to invite my mother to Islam, but she always refused. Today, when I invited her, I had to hear something about you that I disliked. Please pray to Allah to grant guidance to the mother of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed: O Allah, grant guidance to the mother of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). I ran out to give my mother the glad tidings of the Prophet’s prayer. When I reached the door of the house, it was closed from inside. I heard the sound of water falling and sensed the movement of feet. My mother said from inside: Abu Hurairah, wait a little. After a short while, the door opened, and she had put on her shirt and quickly covered herself with a scarf. As soon as she saw me, she said: “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.” Hearing this, I again went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with tears of joy, just as I had previously cried out of grief, and said: O Messenger of Allah! Congratulations, Allah has accepted your prayer and granted guidance to the mother of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). Then I said: O Messenger of Allah! Please pray to Allah to create love for me and my mother in the hearts of the believing servants, and to place their love in our hearts as well. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed: O Allah, create love for this servant of Yours and his mother in the hearts of Your believing servants, and place their love in their hearts. After that, every believer whom Allah created and who hears about me or sees me or sees my mother, begins to love me.

Once Marwan bin Hakam asked Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did you perform the prayer of fear (Salat al-Khawf) with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied, "Yes!" Marwan asked, "When?" He replied, "In the year of the Battle of Najd, and it was like this: the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stood for the Asr prayer, one group stood behind him and the other faced the enemy with their backs towards the Qiblah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said the Takbir, and all those who were participating in the prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or fighting the enemy also said the Takbir. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed one bowing (ruku‘), and the group behind him also performed ruku‘. Then he performed prostration (sajdah), and the group behind him also performed sajdah, while the other group remained standing in front of the enemy. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, and the group with him also stood up. These people went to fight the enemy, and the group that was fighting the enemy came here. They first performed ruku‘ and sajdah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained standing. When they stood up, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in the second rak‘ah, and they performed ruku‘ and sajdah with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the group facing the enemy also came and performed ruku‘ and sajdah first. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the other followers remained seated, then the salam was said. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said the salam, everyone said the salam together. In this way, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also performed two rak‘ahs, and each group also performed two rak‘ahs."

Salman bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once, when the teaching session of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) ended and the people dispersed, a man named Natil Shami approached Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "O Hazrat! Please narrate to us a hadith which you yourself heard from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." He replied, "I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: On the Day of Resurrection, the first people whose cases will be decided will be three types of people.

The first will be a man who was martyred. He will be brought forth, and Allah Almighty will enumerate His blessings upon him, and he will acknowledge all of them. Allah will ask, 'What did you do with them?' He will reply, 'I fought in Your cause until I was martyred.' Allah will say, 'You are lying. You fought so that you would be called brave, and that has already been said.' Then it will be ordered, and he will be dragged on his face and thrown into Hell.

The second will be a man who acquired knowledge, taught it, and recited the Qur'an. He will be brought forth, and Allah Almighty will enumerate His blessings upon him, and he will acknowledge all of them. Allah will ask, 'What did you do with them?' He will say, 'I acquired knowledge and taught it for Your pleasure, and I recited the Qur'an for Your pleasure.' Allah will say, 'You are lying. You acquired knowledge so that you would be called a scholar, and that has already been said. And you recited the Qur'an so that you would be called a reciter, and that has already been said.' Then it will be ordered, and he too will be dragged on his face and thrown into Hell.

The third will be a man upon whom Allah bestowed abundance and granted every kind of wealth. He will be brought forth, and Allah Almighty will enumerate His blessings upon him, and he will acknowledge all of them. Allah will ask, 'What did you do with them?' He will reply, 'I spent in every way You love and for Your pleasure.' Allah will say, 'You are lying. You did this so that you would be called generous, and that has already been said.' Then it will be ordered, and he too will be dragged on his face and thrown into Hell."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tomorrow, if Allah wills, in the event of victory, we will camp at Khaif Bani Kinana, where the people of Quraysh had sworn oaths with each other upon disbelief."
