Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should urinate in standing water and then use it to perform ghusl (ritual bath).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon the water of the Euphrates will recede, uncovering a mountain of gold from beneath it. People will begin to fight over it, until out of every ten men, nine will be killed and only one will survive.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin man brought a roasted rabbit to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), along with chutney and curry. He placed all these things before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) withheld his hand and did not eat anything from it, and ordered the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to eat. The Bedouin also withheld his hand. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Why are you not eating?" He said, "I fast three days every month." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you want to fast, then fast on the white days."

Sahl bin Abi Salih (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I set out towards Syria with my father. (I saw that) when the people of Syria passed by the people of a church, they would greet them with salam. On this occasion, I heard my father say that I heard Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that do not initiate greeting them with salam, and force them towards the narrowest part of the road.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every child is born upon the natural disposition (fitrah), then his parents make him a Jew or a Christian. Its example is like the animal born among you—do you find any defect in it? Later, you yourselves cut its nose. A man asked: Where will these children be? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah knows best what they would have done when they grew up.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The dead person hears even the sound of their shoes when they are returning.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No woman should undertake a journey of three days without a mahram from her family.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man freed a slave according to his share. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) validated this emancipation and made him responsible for the remaining price.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a man is declared bankrupt and someone finds his own property with him in its original form, then compared to others, he has a greater right to that property.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is valid to dedicate something as a waqf (endowment) for a lifetime.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has two wives and inclines towards one over the other (acts unjustly), he will come on the Day of Resurrection with one side of his body fallen.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once Allah Almighty showered golden locusts upon Hazrat Ayub (peace be upon him). Hazrat Ayub (peace be upon him) began gathering them in his garment. Then a voice came: "O Ayub! Have We not given you enough of what is sufficient for you?" He replied: "O Lord! Who can remain independent of Your grace or mercy?"

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever gets one rak'ah of the Fajr prayer before sunrise should join it with the second rak'ah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.

And he also likely said: On the right side of the Throne, on the seventh heaven, there is an angel who says: O Allah, grant a substitute to the one who spends, and quickly destroy the wealth of the one who withholds.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the earnings of the cupper and the earnings from the prostitution of slave women.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that my beloved friend (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me not to sleep without offering Witr.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you strikes someone, he should avoid striking the face.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When a man sits between the four corners of his wife and makes an effort, then ghusl becomes obligatory upon him whether ejaculation occurs or not.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not fast one or two days before Ramadan, except for a person who has the habit of fasting, then he may fast on that day.

And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once he performed ablution, in which he rinsed his mouth three times, put water into his nose three times, washed his face three times, washed his hands three times, wiped his head, and washed both feet.

The previous hadith is also narrated from Hazrat Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) through this second chain of transmission.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Any woman who spends the night away from her husband's bed (due to displeasure), the angels curse her all night (until she returns).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Which is the most virtuous deed?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "The most virtuous deed in the sight of Allah is faith in Allah in which there is no doubt, and such jihad in which there is no dishonesty, and Hajj Mabroor." Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Hajj Mabroor becomes an expiation for all the sins of that year.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three types of people whose supplications are accepted and there is no doubt about their acceptance: the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of a father for his son.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade letting the garment hang in prayer in such a way that it is not in its proper form and there is nothing preventing it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) received the news of the death of Najashi, the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) formed rows behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led their funeral prayer and said four takbirs in it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the intensity of heat is due to the effect of the heat of Hell, therefore perform the prayer after letting it cool down. And in every prayer, recitation is done; however, in those prayers in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) recited aloud to us, we too will recite aloud to you, and in those in which he recited quietly, we too will recite quietly.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever catches one rak'ah of the Fajr prayer before sunrise has caught that prayer, and whoever catches one rak'ah of the Asr prayer before sunset has caught that prayer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you wakes up from sleep, he should wash his hand three times.

Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the Children of Israel, there was a man who asked another man for a loan of one thousand dinars. The lender asked for witnesses. The borrower replied, "Allah is sufficient as a witness." The lender said, "Alright, provide a guarantor." The borrower replied, "Allah is sufficient as a guarantor." The lender said, "You have spoken the truth." Saying this, he gave him one thousand gold coins for a fixed period.

The man who took the money set out on a sea journey, completed his work, and then searched for a ship to return so that he could repay the loan within the specified time, but he could not find a ship. Compelled, he filled the gold coins into a (hollow) piece of wood, placed a letter inside it addressed to the lender, sealed it tightly, and cast the wood into the river. He said, "O Allah, You know that I borrowed one thousand gold coins from such-and-such a person. When he asked for a guarantor, I said that Allah is sufficient as a guarantor, and he was satisfied with Your guarantee. Then he asked for witnesses, and I said that Allah is sufficient as a witness, and he was satisfied with Your testimony and gave me the money. Now I have tried hard to find a ship so that I could deliver the money to him, but I could not find one. Now I entrust these gold coins to You." Saying this, he cast the wood into the sea, and the wood sank into the water. After casting the wood, he returned and continued searching for a ship on his way back so that he could reach his city.

Coincidentally, one day the lender went to the river to see if perhaps a ship had brought his money (he did not find a ship, but he saw the same piece of wood filled with gold coins). He brought it home for firewood, but when he broke it open, he found the money and the letter. After some time, the borrower also arrived and brought one thousand gold coins with him. He said, "By Allah, I kept trying to find a ship so that I could deliver your money to you, but I could not find a ship before now." The lender asked, "Did you send me anything?" The borrower replied, "Yes, I will tell you. Since I could not find a ship before, I sent the money filled inside a piece of wood." The lender said, "So, the money you sent inside the wood, Allah delivered it to me on your behalf. Therefore, you may return with your one thousand dinars in success."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Whoever hears a person announcing a lost item in the mosque, he should say to him, "May Allah not return it to you," because mosques have not been built for such announcements.

Sulaiman bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once the use of checks became common among traders. The traders asked Marwan for permission to buy and sell through them, and he granted them permission. When Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) found out, he went to him and said: "You have permitted usurious trade, whereas the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade the sale of grain before taking possession of it." So Marwan addressed the people and forbade them from doing so. Sulaiman says that then I saw Marwan send a group of guards who began to snatch checks from the hands of those who did not resist.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you eats, he should eat with his right hand and drink with his right hand, for Satan eats and drinks with his left hand.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If it were not for Hazrat Hawwa (Eve), no woman would betray her husband.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon lush and green lands will be conquered, and people will move from here to there with their belongings, although if they knew, Medina would have been better for them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this sentence twice.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Faith and disbelief cannot be combined in a man's heart; falsehood and truth cannot be gathered in one place; and betrayal and trustworthiness cannot be combined together.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Only the wretched will enter Hell. Someone asked, "Who is the wretched?" He replied: The one who does not do any good deed and does not refrain from any sinful act.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If the mountain of Uhud were to turn into gold for me, I would be pleased to spend it in the way of Allah, and not even three days should pass over me with a single dinar or dirham remaining with me, except for that which I keep aside for the repayment of a debt that is due upon me.
