It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from the Battle of Badr, someone said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Now proceed after the caravan of Quraysh; there is no obstacle now to reach it." Upon hearing this, Abbas—who had not yet embraced Islam at that time—called out and said, "This is not appropriate for you." He was asked, "Why?" He replied, "Allah had promised you one of the two groups, and He has already given it to you."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man from Banu Sulaym was driving his goats and passed by some of the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). He greeted them with salam. They said, "He only greeted us to save his life." Saying this, they advanced towards him and killed him, and took his goats and presented them to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Upon this, the following verse was revealed: « ﴿يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّٰهِ فَتَبَيَّنُوا﴾ [النساء : 94]» "O you who believe! When you go forth in the way of Allah, investigate carefully."

Tawoos says that a man asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the meaning of this verse: «﴿قُلْ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى﴾ [الشورى : 23]» Before he could answer, Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) spoke up and said that it refers to the close relatives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "You were hasty. In every clan of the Quraysh, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had kinship ties. This verse was revealed regarding this: 'I do not ask you for any recompense for this message except that you maintain the ties of kinship between me and you and take care of that.'"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a woman from the Ansar—whose name Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) had mentioned but the narrator forgot—"What prevented you from performing Hajj with us this year?" She replied, "O Messenger of Allah! We had only two camels for fetching water. My husband and son took one and went for Hajj, and they left one camel for us so that we could fetch water." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When the month of Ramadan comes, perform Umrah in it, for the reward of Umrah in Ramadan is equal to that of Hajj."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, all people will be raised barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised, and the first person to be clothed will be Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him)." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: «﴿كَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُعِيدُهُ﴾ [الأنبياء : 104]» "As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it."

Abu Al-Hakam says that once I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the nabidh (fermented drink) of a pitcher, so he replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the nabidh of a pitcher and the tunbi of a gourd. Therefore, whoever wants to consider as forbidden what Allah, the Lord of Honor, and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have declared forbidden, should consider nabidh as forbidden.

Abu al-Tufail says that I said to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), "Your people think that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ramal during the circumambulation of the Ka'bah and that it is a Sunnah." He replied, "There is half truth and half falsehood in this." I asked, "How is that?" He said, "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did perform ramal, but it is not a Sunnah. The reason for performing ramal was that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came with his companions (may Allah be pleased with them), the polytheists were watching them from the mountain called Qaiqan. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) learned that these people were talking among themselves about the Muslims being weak. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them to perform ramal so that they could show their strength to the polytheists."
Hadith 2030

Umar bin Mu'tib narrates that Abu Hasan, the freed slave of Abu Nawfal, asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) about this issue: If a slave has a slave woman in his marriage and he divorces her twice and then sets her free, can he send her a marriage proposal again? He replied: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has given a ruling about this.
Hadith 2032

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said during the Farewell Pilgrimage: “O people! What day is this?” The people replied, “A sacred day.” Then he asked, “What city is this?” The people said, “A sacred city.” Then he asked, “What month is this?” The people said, “A sacred month.” He said: “Behold! Your wealth, your lives, and your honor are sacred to one another just as the sanctity of this day, in this sacred city, and in this sacred month.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this statement several times. Then he raised his blessed head towards the sky and said several times, “O Allah! Have I conveyed (the message)?” Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: By Allah! This was a firmness from the Lord. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Behold! Let those who are present convey this message to those who are absent. Do not turn into disbelievers after me, striking the necks of one another.”
